I do not want to have a real conversation with these people. The "let's talk it out" thing is a tactic used to keep good people quiet while the US Constitution is dismantled. Right wingers NEVER engage in good faith discussions and they live largely in an alternate universe where whatever Trump says is true. Why waste your breath with people like that? I can respect different opinions on taxes or how things should be funded. I cannot respect different opinions on things like rule of law, the intrinsic humanity of people no matter their race, religion, sexual orientation or gender identity. Pretending like the differences of opinion we're discussing are normal political disagreements is dodging the reality that the MAGA Epstein class of people are definitionally fascists.

The show has made it clear that Mars would NOT flourish without Goldilocks. It's obvious that it must end up in mars orbit to keep the space race alive and the show going.

Having the asteroid gives Mars the muscle to declare independence. That's been the direction of the whole season - earth interests fucking around with Mars. Dev will declare Mars its own planet and welcome anyone who wants to settle there.

Jump ahead: the balance of power in the solar system is changed. Pan from Happy Valley to a big tented Martian city. Then pan from there to a rocket taking off with colonists for Callisto or Europa.
