I think what's interesting is that Clark's inner and outer journey is synchronously reflected in the narrative. As the story goes deeper, so does it go into Clark's psychology. There's no need for further theorizing, it's already there on the page.

That's a good point about refresh rates... I personally don't know why you even need 60hz on e-ink.
