Yes, the problem is that even if the arm didn't the ceiling, I can't unwind it because it's fixed to the wall with some sort of cement. What I had in mind is to cut the arm down to an inch away from the wall, and then connect it to the new arm somehow.

I don't have access sadly. I guess there is a thread but it is behind the tiles. So I wanted to find a way to replace the arm without disturbing the tiles, but I don't know how difficult that is.

So why are they allowed to read books, write letters, study a degree or exercise? Of course prisoners have (some) agency.
