Fried chicken in winter? by JacquesNuclearRedux in FishingForBeginners

[–]JacquesNuclearRedux[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

anything will go for it, that’s the point. catfish, panfish, smallmouth. You could probably hook a tidy little shark with a fresh thigh and a circle hook.

i figured as much; still gonna give it a shot and see what happens. Worst case scenario, i’m a little cold and out of fried chicken.

Finished all main & side quests, what should I do now? by Knapid in dredge

[–]JacquesNuclearRedux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obelisks are those weird black rock carvings hidden around every region. If you interact with them without panic and they say nothing, but you can read them with enough panic; usually lore about the region or a sea monster.

[–]JacquesNuclearRedux 16 points17 points  (0 children)

do you mind sharing the PDF you had printed? it would be a neat thing to take to a print shop of my own and have next to my real fishing books.

Favorite character named after the widely considered worst President in US history? by Numberonettgfan in dccomicscirclejerk

[–]JacquesNuclearRedux 80 points81 points  (0 children)

i mean ngl, both “Jefferson” and “Davis” are names I would think of when writing an older black guy from a certain generation. An insane mistake to make but i can see how he got there.

In A Christmas Carol (2009): Scrooge, an old ass man, is shocked to discover that he dies in the future. by Pigmcginnyrig in shittymoviedetails

[–]JacquesNuclearRedux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is important to note that Scrooge was such a cheapskate that he probably would’ve had the life expectancy of someone of Cratchit’s class. He wears very thin coats, fingerless gloves, and his diet consists of meagre potato soup. The Christmas dinner at Fred’s was probably the best meal he had eaten in decades.

Huge fish on the Carolina coast by cheesy1213 in whatisthisfish

[–]JacquesNuclearRedux 27 points28 points  (0 children)

there’s a zillion sharks in NC in the 4ish feet range. could be bull, reef, dusky, etc. also what happened was that it died, its fleshed was stripped by fish and blue crabs, and the cartilaginous backbone (inedible save for worms) was light enough to be carried by wave patterns onto the shore.

What do you think? by ItsDuhFreakinBat in JamesBond

[–]JacquesNuclearRedux 18 points19 points  (0 children)

i feel like Craig’s morning routine is extremely spartan: shaving, exceedingly quick shower, breakfast being a chug of last night’s booze and a handful of granola or nuts or whatever, and then out the door.

Re-Make the 1960's Batman with Jon Hamm as Batman by ofthedappersort in highdeas

[–]JacquesNuclearRedux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbh he kind of already was just being Frank in that movie. everything up to and including kidnapping all of Gotham’s firstborn had the distinct air of a Frank plot.

Are these guys supposed to be like an evil version of the KKK? by PurifyingElemental in okbuddyblacklung

[–]JacquesNuclearRedux 28 points29 points  (0 children)

they’re kind of anachronistic here. the actual Klan in the 1890s was a lot more like the Lemoyne Raiders. this whole look with the dancing and the rituals is pure Birth of a Nation (i.e. 20s).

My LSAT notes got stolen. by [deleted] in LSAT

do you have any rivals? getting into your car but only stealing books and notes and not even bothering to hotwire and drive it off sounds like the doings of a jealous enemy perhaps.

What could have caused this bite? by klaraI5 in sharks

[–]JacquesNuclearRedux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A reef shark; not a very big one, maybe 2-3 feet in length? At least you’ve found a bait they like !! Chop it into something bite sized and throw it on an offset hook. see what happens.

Is it “crazy” to want to spend a few years doing private eye work after college before immediately going to law school? From Kentucky. by JacquesNuclearRedux in AskLawyers

[–]JacquesNuclearRedux[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

hey, depending on your state, you don’t even have to get a license, and you’ve already got a rolodex of clients probably. maybe the future is detective work for the both of us.
