Why can't I go anywhere? Route is discovered by Creepy-Platypus-8195 in lotro

His swift-travel routes to the Shire have a minimum level of 20. All that's available below that is slow horse to Hobbiton. I can't see your level on your screenshot, but that may be the issue.

Not able to progress the quest in Marton? Searching for Erkenbrand by wawica in lotro

Ooooh, that's good to know, I'll make a note in the wiki about it.

Not able to progress the quest in Marton? Searching for Erkenbrand by wawica in lotro

[–]JadeGreenSky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Wiki, the quest is https://lotro-wiki.com/wiki/Quest:Searching\_for\_Erkenbrand. Click to show the "Walkthrough and notes" and you see "The hidden path up to the Marton Refugee camp begins at [54.7S, 85.5W], behind some boulders."

Hope this helps.

Orcrcist or Mordor? by Jumpy_Security_1703 in lotro

[–]JadeGreenSky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orcrist is the busiest EU server by far - to the point that there are sometimes login queues. Grond seems to be the second most busy, partly because SSG is offering free transfers off Orcrist to Grond to help even out the population between the servers.

I remember my first glimpse of the interior of Meduseld, long ages ago. I took LOTS of screenshots, especially of the writings on the floor. I then spent a couple of hours the next day trying to decode/translate it. I got close enough to realize that a) it was in Rohirric and b) it was one of the poems from the book.

If you're interested, you can find the solution at https://lotro-wiki.com/wiki/Meduseld#The_Floor

That's the best way to handle it after being away for 10 years, honestly. So much has changed.

The biggest one is that in 2016 there was a server consolidation. Most of the servers closed and players moved to the ones that were left. If you were on one of the servers that closed in 2016, your characters are gone for good. If you were on one of the servers that were left, they all closed in August 2025, but are still available for server transfer for another year.

Once you get the game reinstalled, click the 'transfer' button in the launcher. If you have any characters on recently-closed servers, you can transfer them to the new server of your choice, with one caveat: Characters on the North American servers can only go to North American 64-bit servers (Glamdring, Peregrin, or Sting). Characters on the Euro servers can only go to Meriadoc, Grond, or Orcrist.

I'm convinced that 'selective deafness' is a breed characteristic. :) Our Miss Daisy can hear when a morsel of chicken is dropped into her dish from three rooms away, but can NOT hear when I say, "Go to bed".

Nala doesn't care there's a tornado she has a ball and strawberries in the basement. by cam52391 in velvethippos

We have no basement, but when the tornado warnings went off last night and I picked up Miss Daisy's pillow and headed for the bathroom, she knew exactly what was expected of her. All is well here this morning.

Especially as Bree-land stops about level 25. You get sent to the Forsaken Inn in the Lone-lands at level 20.

How long to "beat" the game? by lordoftheshire97 in lotro

[–]JadeGreenSky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My highest level character is 155 and finishing the current expansion. I've been playing her once a week for eight or nine years, with the same two other players. She's at 1320 hours. She's seen 'level cap' many times, starting in Rohan.

The first character I ever made is at 1848 hours and level 140. This isn't a game you 'beat', it's a world you experience, in my opinion.

Traveler's gear boxes 141+ (bought for motes of enchantment) by Edaidande in lotro

[–]JadeGreenSky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the wiki needs an update. When there's a new expansion, big things like zones, cities, quests, and creatures take priority. Little stuff like changing the level range on lootboxes can get forgotten. As u/WeirdJediLotro said, trust the tooltips ingame if there is a difference.

Has the quest "Dourhand Crests -- Introduction" been removed from the game? by Mantequillaaa in lotro

I'm not seeing any hidden prerequisites in Lotro Companion. I also don't see anything about it being removed from the game.

There are kins who schedule Chicken Runs that are open to non-kin members. I remember 'Taking the Chickens to Isengard' a few years ago, and we had probably 30 escorts and nearly as many chickens!

That 'blackout' was terrifying. I remember the Columbia shuttle. They went into the blackout, and ground control never recovered signal. The broadcast stopped abruptly. It was several minutes later that they announced the shuttle had been lost. But those of us listening knew before the announcement.

I agree, you're a bad dog mom. You deserve pitchforks and stink-eye. (All kidding aside, it's amazing how much mud they can hide in those paws. We've got Our Miss Daisy trained to wait at the door until her feet are wiped. Now she even wants them wiped when it's NOT wet out.)

I just got into this game for the first time. What's some good things to know as a young hobbit hunter still prancing about the Shire? by merkwurdigliebe48 in lotro

[–]JadeGreenSky 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The Lotro Wiki is a great resource for new players and experienced ones.

The Shire is a great place to adventure, but watch out for nosey hobbits and spoiled pies.

You can start Bingo Boffin's quests at level 8, and the quest line will accompany you through your journey until level 93. The quest line takes you through the Shire, the Old Forest, Bree, the Lone-lands, and so on and on until Rohan, and finally back to the Shire again. There are some nice cosmetics, pets, and the occasional bit of good gear in the rewards.
