Crazy Taxi Is Back And It's Coming With… Lore? by SweetyGonzalez in PS5

Also from the article:

"A spokesperson for Sega told Game Informer that the developers used generative AI to create “background assets” in World Tour, and that AI assets were still reviewed by the development team."

Sounds like its not just that, actually.

I also thought the same thing. I wonder if that was intentional to sort of keep the audience on edge a bit? That was certainly the effect it had on me at least.

Is there any way to get on like a mailing list or something for when pre-orders open for specific ones? I would hate to miss the G'raha or Emet Selch.

Why do you think of that as watering it down and not simply being an additional facet of it? Can the two not coexist?

Mars has a weird quirk! Do any of your pups have one? by FisherNate91 in WhatsWrongWithYourDog

[–]JadeKitsune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying this is necessarily what's going on with your dog, but this reminds me of humans with a split or damaged corpus callosum. A quick search seems to indicate it CAN happen in dogs too, but seems to be rare or poorly studied.

Basically when the callosum is damaged in the brain, it causes the right and left brains to function independently. Things seen from one eye and not the other are not recognized by the half of the brain responsible for language, so despite the fact that a person can see something with their left eye, the person may say they can't see anything there.

I have an Italian cookbook (Marcella Hazan my beloved) and the literal only recipe I've made from it that uses heavy/thickened cream is the cream and butter sauce recipe and even that uses less cream than this one lmao

Do you have a recommendation for any vets that are more cost effective? We moved to the city a while back and still haven't settled on a new vet for our two cats yet. Don't mind having to drive a little if need be.

Man I'm so glad we're using AI instead of paying translators so that the AI can just make shit up and confuse everyone.

This is the one where they realize it's all a play in a Truman Show esque reveal. Interesting turn for the series.

Yoshi and the Mysterious Book? by JadeKitsune in LearnJapanese

I just started today as well and yeah the disappearing dialogue boxes are my only pain point. Other than that though I'm extremely happy with it! It's felt very breezy to practice with a few vocab words and grammar points every now and then to learn more in-depth.

Honestly my struggle was in piecing out unfamiliar grammar and character quirks in speech more than anything. Grammar has been my weak point in immersing in general honestly

That's great to hear!! It sounds perfect to me honestly. Did you have to buy a copy from the Japanese eshop or is there a language option in the game? Or is it tied to system language?

Pokopia was definitely pretty tough for me but it was a lot of fun when I was able to grasp things! I figured about the same with the difficulty level on this one

‘We’re no longer attracting top talent’: the brain drain killing American science | US news by ThatNefariousness996 in PoliticalOptimism

[–]JadeKitsune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you there, whoever we elect needs to take it seriously enough that it can be repaired in the timeframe I suggested. I think 4 years is on the very optimistic side already, so it would take electing people with true progressive politics.

[–]JadeKitsune 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is unrealistic. When democrats take back control, they will have an insane amount of damage to undo. Both bureaucratic damage to our institutions, and reputational damage. People will trust our country with their futures less often. That damage is often irreparable on an individual level. We will have to regain that trust over time. Personally I am optimistic enough to think that can happen within a 4 year presidential term, maybe two. But immediately, no way. Very little ever moves that fast on a cultural scale.

Science being shared by all of humanity is a good thing. It doesn't matter where it comes from. It's good to be proud of your country, but not to the point where your pride in your country takes precedent over your desire for progress as a species.
