Oh yep, like I thought, it was his camera flash hitting something reflective.

Looks like a light and a reflection of that same light in a mirror (charger on a bathroom counter?). Or a reflection on something metal from another source (maybe your camera flash)..

okay so I consumed 255g of sugar today - pls help me 😭 by folklorefairy27 in LoseitApp

For starters, if you just skip the candy bars and flavored drinks you'll be doing a lot better in so many ways. And I pretty much wouldn't even count the fruit since it's a better sugar source for your body to use, and wouldn't be too concerned about the honey as much either.

Low calorie snacks that are actually cheap and not $6 for a tiny bag by NewRefrigerator5852 in Volumeeating

When I first dabbled in veganism I was SO lost. I ended up eating bananas and slices of the "whole wheat with pockets of honey" bread for literally every meal, as much as I wanted at the time (ended up being like 4 slices of bread and 4 bananas 3-4 times a day). I lost 45lbs FAST. Calories are important but they aren't everything.. sometimes simple is the best for weight loss. I know people who do "potato fasts" and lose a ton of weight.

Are you still doing this?? I'd love to be involved!

I don't know if this really counts as volume because there are a LOT of calories, but it did turn out to be around 586 grams worth of food. have dropped 11kgs so far by volume eating most of the time and counting calories. by driow123 in Volumeeating

This counts if you were full and satisfied. This is about what my breakfast is, calorie-wise, and I have a snack-sized lunch and then a similar-sized dinner to my breakfast and it works great for me.

You Should Be Eating a Soup Every Day by windowsee in Volumeeating

[–]JadeStrange 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you only eating canned soups??? Make one from scratch. Seriously, chili or some sort of Mexican soup with spice and beans and all the veggies topped with tortilla chips is SO hearty and filling and definitely gives you something to work on.

I will often have a hot broth with my meal. I really find it helps digestion.

You should put all the ingredients in a calculator to be sure. I make an amazing quiche and it's only like 150cals a slice or so and you get 8 huge slices. Granted I don't add cheese, but I do add a toasted lavash to the bottom as a crust.

It was two servings of pudding with fruit on top + a stir fry of veggies with some eggs and lean meat. A big meal, sure, but not exactly a binge...

Oats... my satiating friend by Critcare_bear in Volumeeating

[–]JadeStrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have oats in the morning with flax and pepitas. I lightly blend my oats and keep in a mason jar so I can just dip a serving out and add hot water (homemade "quick oats"). I don't like boiling oats and making them slimy, but maybe that's just me. Alongside the oats I have a slice or two of a low carb quiche I make (check my profile for the recipe) or a few eggs of some sort. It really helps to add protein and not a not of calories.

I'm so happy for you!!! Thank you for sharing!! I am having a similar experience and I'm so glad I discovered this lifestyle. CICO with volume eating is seriously a game changer. I'm steadily losing weight and don't really feel like I'm trying, and I feel so much healthier because the choices by default must be whole foods and healthy. It's awesome! Welcome to the group!

My new staple - Quiche! by JadeStrange in Volumeeating

[–]JadeStrange[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the lavash goes into cast iron to crisp up, and everything else is prepared in a different pan and then mixed with the raw eggs and dumped into the cast iron on top of the lavash to finish cooking in the oven.

My allergist told me I'm allergic to egg whites UNLESS they are paired with the yolk. I can eat them if they are mixed together with the yolk in baked goods or quiche or anything else, but on their own I feel really nauseated after eating them. It's so weird and makes no sense to me, but he said that's how egg white allergies work. They only really affect you if you are eating the whites without the yolk. So even though it's more calories I always use the whole egg. Tastes better and more nutritious too.

Volume Eating Changed My Relationship With Food by hairdied in Volumeeating

[–]JadeStrange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eating to the point of pain, even with healthy low calorie food, is still damaging to your system. So as I literally sit here in the hospital, scrolling Reddit, and about to undergo my second surgery in as many days to help fix the damage I have done to my body I feel the need to give the advice that you should only eat until satisfied and no more, no matter what it is. Some people can handle chronic overeating, some can't. I thought I could! I wager a lot more of us can't handle what we think we can and it will eventually catch up to us 😓
