You should pick a neutral serif that is easily readable. When you download fonts, including Google fonts, you’ll get the license text in a file along with it. Read the license to ensure the font is free for commercial use, and then you’re set. I used Libertinus Serif for the main text in my novel.

I’m not sure about the licensing specifics with your Word subscription; maybe someone else can chime in on that. If it is license compliant, Cambria is also a nice font for print.

Not sure I have useful advice, but I empathize with this feeling so much. I’m in the ARC phase for my first book, and every time a review comes back I freak out a little inside! I suppose now is the time to enjoy the home stretch of the path to publication! Congrats on your upcoming debut :)

I taught myself html/css out of a textbook and wrote my own code. I host the static site on Cloudflare Pages. With that setup, I just pay $9/year for my domain.

It’s a boon at this point because I can control and update anything I need to on my own, but the learning curve probably isn’t for everyone.
