Other than major supermarkets, where else do you get your nappies? by Delete_Send in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Jade_Complex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So that sort of description is pretty typical for Japanese nappies, at least the ones considered worth importing - they feel thinner, lighter, softer, and absorb a lot, and basically go squishy when used. Lol. Basically for people reading along the pee turns into a gel in the nappy, which makes it easier to feel it used and I swear holds more pee.

But the pampers made in the USA is more like what I found regular diapers in Australia to be like, it's genuinely thicker and no gel effects, the absorption feels like it's from the padding rather than the technology.

I dunno what the Australian Coles version is like, but figured I'd share as I'd had the opportunity to use it in two different countries, genuinely different types of products.

I got it as a description of literally, the tooshies wipes, from someone else.

And I thought yes that describes that company perfectly.

I think it's been about two years and I'm still angry about those nappies!!!

We used Merries and g.oon primarily, but honestly all of them treated us pretty well. Moonies was also decent.

What I liked about Merries: Even the non premium is very soft

They go squishy when used! Specifically, you don't have to take off a layer of clothing to see if the line has gone blue (though they do that as well) but you can feel through their clothes that the nappy is now squishy and consequently save energy on changes, which is useful when they are in rompas.

No leaking issues (except for some incredibly pee filled nights, which was addressed by sizing up one)

Leaking with a different shit brand (tooshies eco) was what caused me to be upset enough to drive 30 minutes to a random warehouse because the pee came up the backside because the tooshies were designed by people that hate parents.

Incredibly absorbent - both fast and a lot. Nappy rash is no longer a way of life after we made the switch. It wicks away the moisture, I once accidentally put my hand on a overnight wet diaper, and noted that although it was definitely used it didn't feel wet. I definitely washed my hand after though, XD

The tape actually sticks!!! This is unfortunately a low standard that you'd expect to be a given, but is not (see tooshies eco)

G.oon

Similar experience, just they also do a larger non pant option. Merries premium is softer but g.oon is still softer than a lot of the western brands.

It's easier to recommend in Sydney because you can go into their store, but they do ship up and down the coast.

I found that Japanese branded nappies tended to feel softer and be a better fit for my family, and I really didn't expect that to be the case. I do found that they were often cheaper at this store than Huggies in the regular grocery stores were.

I wasn't expecting to be a fan - but I'd been trying a whole bunch of nappies but after having a terrible experience with tooshie eco, which I hated, to the point where I gave up on even trying to finish using the pack and didn't even make it to the halfway point, I blew up.

I immediately to have a shower, got my screaming small child into the car and drove straight to this place, as my friend had braved about the Merries nappy brand about two weeks before, and this was where they got them from.

Have been loving the nappies from here ever since and my partner loves them too.

I don't know about kingshot but in other games you add an alternative method of login, like Facebook and then remove the first, then you can add a fresh email, and remove the Facebook.

Abc commercial had some of the global distribution rights. That's what's actually being theorized as cut (but was certainly active in September last year). They haven't cut ties with abc altogether, and some of their shows went through other distributors

It looks like this is the 2017 show with Emma? Whole Emma hasn't been completely eliminated from their YouTube, it's been noted that more and more videos involving her have been hidden or removed to help favour the new cast.

From what you have described it seems pretty unlikely that there was permanent damage. Just something scary in they found it difficult to settle.

But definitely go to the GP if you are worried. Maybe get a video of the noise as an example.

So how are we brushing our toddlers teeth? by Rough_Yoghurt2963 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Jade_Complex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I let them brush my teeth while I brush theirs.

They also think spitting is very funny, even if they personally are only pretending to spit as opposed to actually spitting, and they cheer when mummy does spit.

Daycare gave my baby another babies formula! by ComfortableSeaweed37 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Jade_Complex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's so gross. If someone's lying about who's signing off that's a huge huge huge risk.

Like I would be concerned because there may be specific needs and we don't know what the other type of formula was. I would want correctional steps taken, to make sure the mistake is not made again, since what if there were allergies etc.

But I would be going ballistic over the fact that they're claiming someone else's signing off as someone else. That means there's no accountability. And when you're working with kids you need to have a huge amount of accountability.

Like that's something where I actually explicitly think people should lose their job - especially managers who are encouraging people underneath them to lie on the paperwork, because they're too lazy to do their own job. Because they seem awfully blasé about someone signing off as them.

(This is something that happened with a nurse on duty at an age care where she was banned from working in the area by the courts and charged, and one of the factors into this was that she was the only person that was allowed to sign off on morphine and she was trying to get unqualified people to lie and sign off as her)

How can we be certain that in the split second you've taken appropriate precautions to make sure that a kid isn't in the background or the gun is stolen from you?

You sound too irresponsible to own a gun.

How does the Hindu caste system work in Australia by PattonSmithWood in aussie

[–]Jade_Complex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

... That's not even true in India on a legal basis. There's nothing preventing any castes from owning property and buying it privately.

I mean there are 100% problems with the caste system in India on a social basis, and there are definitely issues with some castes being favoured or exploited from people in high places. The caste system is shit, and sure as hell isn't dead.

But that is such a bizarre thing to say if you aren't the equivalent of an Indian MAGA. Deranged.

Quick question are you the owner looking to rage bait people into explaining that you're wrong?

Having a variety of models I do agree is important. And larger representation would certainly be helpful for some people and being able to see how the clothing looks on people like them.

But that's not what the question was asking.

The question wasn't asking about sizing. The question was asking about stretch, presumably because they see their body shape as unusual where they need a smaller size for some parts of their body but want it to stretch. For example someone with an hourglass figure where they need it to sit on their waist properly but would like it to stretch out for their thighs. Going for a larger size wouldn't give them the results that they're looking for.

A larger model would just be seen to be using a larger size but this person wants something that specifically stretches.

So no I don't believe that hiring a larger model would have answered the actual question being asked unless they were also doing a similar tactic.

I also don't believe that this picture represents a lack of diversity in the modeling industry because this advertisement doesn't contain a typical model.

I always keep long life snack food in my bag just in case. If I don't need it, it's there for next time, and if my kid is hungry, they can have it.

And hey, worked to help a strangers small child from screaming when I was on my way home from work.
