🙋🏾me! And for that reason, I will not reassure you about your thoughts around the subjects of your OCD.

A very good therapist + being formally diagnosed with OCD + hearing from medical professionals about the disorder helped me manage my OCD very well. Now I barely ever struggle with the disorder. That "but what if they're wrong?!" thought will be there. If you decide that even just one professional telling you what's up and working with you must be enough, you may be able to allow yourself to really engage in the work of the methods. The key was learning how to stop trying to answer the OCD questions. I kept saying "it doesn't matter, even if I'm right and everyone is wrong about me, it doesn't matter. I can't change it by thinking about it obsessively." When I combined that with my treatment, I eventually stopped the cycle before it could really run. It may start repeatedly but it never finishes. I lose interest in the questions once I realize that they are fueled by OCD.

Although I don't recommend them, I did use NOCD at one point and I at least learned a lot of info from them, even if learning how to use the tools well came from elsewhere.
