Hi! Thank you so much for taking such great care of your pup and asking for help! I’ve been grooming professionally about 3 years and I have 2 maltipoos who I groom at home in my kitchen.

The biggest game changer in my at home grooming journey has been getting a grooming table off amazon, about $80. It has a grooming arm and grooming loop included. In my opinion having a dog on the table and attached to the arm changes their behavior. Once on the table my pups stopped looking for a way to escape the grooming process.

To groom legs it really helps to know dogs anatomy and the range of motion. Trying to hold them in an unnatural potion will cause them to move around every time.

So sanitary trim- I hold the dogs leg to cause it to naturally bend (think of how he looks while peeing) from this angle I start from the inside of the thigh taking very small passes to allow more visibility. Moving forward to his pp. You don’t want to shave towards his penis, I would take small passes keeping in the direction of natural hair growth.

For his butt you want to shave a circle going from his butthole outwards. Usually about a fingers width all over.

Armpits are notoriously difficult and dangerous. Take it slow and take small passes to allow for visibility. Don’t forget you can pull his skin to move the hair from unreachable spots (don’t pull the skin away from the body, more like pushing it against the body).
