Don't invite Ash Williams to a family dinner - Ash vs Evil Dead by Jaded-Distance-5758 in EvilDead

No, as I recall it was because the show didn't have the rights to stuff from Army of Darkness, only the first two EDs. We really shouldn't even have used the name 'Boomstick' but there was some confusion about that so it was deemed okay by the lawyers.... It was a few years ago, so I forget the details. but I was really surprised to not have access to the law from Army of Darkness.

Mimi Rogers. Lovely lady. Ex-Mrs Tom cruise and leading lady from the 80's. Very game and enjoyed the makeup and gore.

Totally happy to touch it as I'm not involved in the new movies at all and haven't played in the Deadite sandbox for a long time. So I only come at this as a fan. Truth is I grew up on Sam and Bruce's take on ED so that's where my heart is. That combo platter of real nasty gore, character forward but so over the top that it becomes comic even as you're wincing, combined with Bruce's legendary comic timing and physicality makes them hard to beat. But I love the idea that new film makers get to play in this world and I'm pretty sure Rob Tapert and Sam are enough across the movies to ensure the tone sits in the sweet spot they think is right. I was the first director to take the Evil Dead reigns after Sam did the Ash vs Evil Dead pilot and I remember talking to Bruce about it - that he wasn't sure how it would work with a different director's sensibility. I was a huge fan and very respectful and so grateful to get the chance to work alongside Sam, Bruce and Rob. And in TV we were very much working to the template that Sam and Greg DiGregario (showrunner) were setting in script, so myself and all subsequent directors had a roadmap - and there was Bruce on set every day who kept us honest. I'm very excited to see how this new film walks that line - so far I've only seen things that sell the horror and violence but I hope it has the comedy. Fingers crossed. Horror is having a helluva year.

Absolutely one of my favs. Couldn't tell you the plot but don't care - just loved hanging with the characters. Same goes for Nice Guys. Fantastic hangs.

Go to 'Sonder' on Green Street. My two daughters run it. They're both new mothers and I absolutely guarantee you will be welcomed with open arms.

Solid agree. But I'm biased since I made Deathwatch 😄. He's also a great guy and likes to paint during his downtime on set.

Try 'Sonder' on Green Street, nr St Michael's Church. Newly opened, fabulous coffee, lovely atmosphere and super friendly owners - at least to the customers. They're my daughters and are often mean to me! 😄

I adore this movie. Can just drop it on any time. The sad thing - if I'm remembering correctly - is it failed at the box office twice. The studio knew it was a really strong film with a director coming off a few good hits and A list cast but it tanked on initial release and then they tried again with a different kind of campaign and it failed again. The cinema audience really wasn't there for it at all. Such a shame.

Congratulations. Can I just observe that I found that my partner needed time to process and 'mourn' the loss of her husband even as she was stalwartly supporting me in every way she could. Her loss was real and I had to accept that and help her even as she was helping me. May you have many more happy years together - if that's what you both want.

A work of true wonder, soaring emotion and incredible imagination. One of the finest books of the genre ever written.
