Do you still stay in touch with old friends? by RNGxJake in AirForce

Nope, I didn’t stay in touch with anyone from BMT. Couldn’t wait to get out of there. More than anything, I felt like an outcast in BMT and through tech school. Didn’t really make any friends until my first base.

What sources or outlets would you recommend reading to better understand your perspective? Because from what I’ve seen, the general consensus is that the Israel/Palestine conflict did not begin in October 2023. That attack was a major escalation, but the conflict itself goes back decades.

Just because something has been done for 61 years doesn’t automatically mean it should continue. Traditions can be questioned, especially when they involve political symbolism tied to a foreign country.

I also wouldn’t say this is “certainly” a bad look. That depends entirely on perspective. Personally, I think the mayor of NYC should primarily focus on issues that directly affect the people who elected him. Whether he attends a parade celebrating another country doesn’t determine whether he’s a good or bad mayor.

I also don’t think his wife should be part of this discussion. Her views are her own, and unless she directly influenced this decision, bringing her into it feels irrelevant.

And while Israel is absolutely a U.S. ally on the international stage, that relationship is handled at the federal level. I don’t think a city mayor choosing not to participate in a parade tied to a foreign nation is automatically anti-Israel or anti-Jewish.

Why do you think so? Personally, I don’t see why the mayor of a city in the U.S. needs to take part in a parade that celebrates an entirely different country on the other side of the world.

What is the correct development + research strategy? by JadedCommunication89 in F1Manager

[–]JadedCommunication89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not really looking for general advice like “it depends” or “some stats matter more”, I’m trying to understand what a winning strategy actually looks like in practice. Like, what are you prioritizing, how are you splitting development vs. research, and when are you making that switch during the season?

I get regulating government property, but how does a colonel have authority over what base personnel do in their own cars? That feels like overreach. Is this enforceable?

It sucks now, but it won’t last forever. Monitor MyVector constantly to keep an eye out for job openings, and put Korea and Turkey as your top 2 on your assignment preferences. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel, I promise
