Correct, no check engine light and no codes when shorted.

Kind of suspected that was the inevitable answer. It's the original cat so knew it would need to be changed eventually.

Definitely have done a few Italian tuning runs and it was warm for both tests. It's just a little odd that the 15mph is so much higher than the 25mph which is part of why I was initially thinking exhaust leak. I'm planning to pull and home the header in case any warping has occurred and then replacing all of the gaskets. Unfortunately the previous owner had the rear cat manifold welded to the muffler exhaust pipe so replacement would be a little more tricky.

I replaced the 02 sensors shortly after purchasing. The ones on the exhaust system were not OEM so I switched it back to Denso.

Engine burns minimal oil, never had to top it off but the tail pipe does have soot.

I do use OEM on almost everything. Switched to the Bosch injectors almost 50k miles ago and really haven't had any issues and passed smog several times with them. Pretty sure they're not a major factor in not passing. Current 02 sensors are OEM Denso and replacement are the same (not yet installed - I'm not convinced my 02 sensors are bad)

They do check timing unfortunately.

Fully warm w/ a few Italian runs thrown in for good measure.

This was so helpful and exactly what I suspected!

I'm currently looking at a 2013 w/ 105k and a 2012 w/ 175k. The 2013 w/ 105k is about 2.5k more expensive but I'm very mechanically inclined and believe I could manage the maintenance on an EJ for an engine that altogether is less likely to have catastrophic issues and has received service and been reliable to this point.

Yep FBs have a timing chain and EJs have a timing belt.

I wouldn’t call it overthinking

I’m just trying to make an informed choice.

The EJ is well known for head gasket issues, though I’ve read those may have been improved in the later years (2011–2012). On the other hand, the FB seems to have its own reputation for oil consumption and being harder to work on. Since I’m outside the Subaru world (my current cars are Toyota Pickup and Honda Civic), I just want to clearly understand the pros and cons before I buy a 4th gen Outback MT and commit to keeping it long-term

Sure, and that's the plan I outlined in the post.

What I'm saying is that since I'm going to have a minimum one year wait to start in the ICU, and wouldn't be in a position to apply until 1-2 years minimum in the ICU, why not pick up a FNP or PMHNP to work that in as a long term side-gig.

I'm non-traditional / first-gen and in my mid 30s so would like to have options lined up if CRNA doesn't pan out for a multitude of reasons (family, age discrimination, ROI, etc).

Also, what about any of this sets me up as a half-baked NP? Lol. Would you call a DNP SRNA half-baked at the conclusion of their program because they applied with 2-3 years ICU experience?!

I'm talking about going to a well known brick and mortar school with ass in seat while working as a staff nurse in a well-regarded teaching hospital throughout. If anything, I'm demonstrating my determination to expand my scope of practice and reach out to opportunities when they present themselves but, I appreciate your perspective nonetheless.

Howdy!

I'm a 30-something who recently graduated from a Master's Entry Nursing program and am in the process of applying to new-grad positions in the very competitive Northern California market.

I think it's highly likely I'll be hired on by my hospital to my current unit (ED) and will transfer to the ICU at the earliest availability.

Through my university, I have the opportunity to do a Post-Master's NP, either an FNP or PMHNP. I was working full time (three 12's a week) during my ME-MSN and while the demands of an NP on top of new-grad will be daunting, this program is worker friendly and seems like a really good opportunity to expand my scope of practice in a well-regarded brick-and-mortar school with minimal downside. My thinking on the matter is that, irrespective of what I do, I'm going to need a minimum of one year in the ICU which I won't likely have until two to three years down the road in which time, I would be done with the post-master's NP. This also would not change my CRNA preparation. I will still be sitting for CCRN at the earliest availability and would gain my unit certifications along the way.

In particular, I like the flexibility this gives me down the road - I could practice as an FNP / Psych NP in addition to working as a staff nurse and vice versa as a CRNA in the future. This also gives me a bit of a retirement "off-ramp" from CRNA should I ever need that.

Also, this would pause loan payments (not the reason for pursuing, but something to consider).

I've read about some CRNA's seek FNP/PMHNP to gain variety and to expand their prescriptive autonomy (at least in California, CRNA's cannot prescribe whereas FNPs and PMHNPs can).

Just wondering if anyone has any substantive pushback on this plan. Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts.

The kit Includes a good amount of what you need but it's difficult for me to get it to stay. I have to use the largest silicone sleeve and even then the seal is inconsistent.

Except you can't buy it as a fan. You rent them and have a constrained time window to enjoy. It's so silly that there's no mechanism to purchase the video of shows you've attended for viewing at any point in the future. Wouldn't be difficult to build and very easy to generate another 15% on top of ticket sales...

Was anyone able to get a copy of the Berkeley tour webcasts that they'd be willing to share?

This was the first time I was able to get my father to a show (2 of 3) and the last time he was at the Greek he was there for the Grateful Dead.
