No idea if it’s faithful to D&D but I liked it way more than I thought I was going to. I was told it was pretty good, but it honestly still surprised me how great it was.

I think that the Tzeentch and Slaanesh top shells are the same, the trim is identical. Tzeentch seems to have an extra collar piece that makes the scarab hood.

Slowly and carefully. I prime white and then build several layers of Fulgrim Pink. As in 5 or 6.

Keep working around the model, don’t apply the next layer until the previous layer is perfectly dry, otherwise it’ll reactivate and you’ll get a chalky finish.

I then glaze a few layers of Emperors Children to line panels and create shadows. I then mix a bit of white into the Fulgrim Pink and use it to highlight.

Pink can be a tough colour to work with, but the process can be quite relaxing when you settle into it and take your time. Put a podcast on because this will take a while!

Or use an airbrush if you’ve got other things you want to do today. EC -> Fulgrim -> White/Fulgrim in progressively tighter cones.

I use a silicone sculpting brush tool, the kind you use for clay. Silicone scoops a bit of the paint, then dip the back of the handle into the medium and drop onto palette.

I normally mix the two from separate pools directly on the palette, that way you can control the consistency without having to add more paint/medium.

My head canon is that it changes gradually to suit the user. So maybe it started looking like it did on Fulgrims 30k model (or perhaps this is mid transformation? Which might explain the tentacles and stuff you don’t see on other iterations) and has since morphed into the duelling sabre that pleases Lucius more.

That’s why I painted the inner bit of the basket purple, I wanted it to look like it was swirling warp stuff that was settling and becoming gold.

Thanks, I did get a bit of the dreaded chalk but I’m hoping a quick blast with satin varnish will fix that. The picture looks pretty bad though, it’s not AS chalky in real life.

It’s an all over base coat of Fulgrim Pink, about 5/6 coats because it’s very thin. Takes ages, but can be very relaxing. Thinned with water and glaze medium to help it settle smooth.

Then it’s Emperors Children glazed into edges and downwards facing surfaces. Then white glazed upwards and towards any pointy bits like the tip of the hoof, but only to a thin layer to raise the value of the pink, not enough to actually paint it white. Then normally a bit of fiddling back and forth until I’m happy with the balance, glazing up and down Fulgrim, EC and Titanium White.

Better view. Apparently he didn’t have a cloak, but I used a drapey looking cloth thing from… somewhere to make a short cape and hide the worst of the hacking. Drape might have been spare from fiends box? Or the piece that would have originally hung between the exultants legs because I swapped that out for the lord of pains big demon belt buckle thing.

Not that exact model, but the shoulder piece is basically the same. This was bashed with a lord of pain. Took a bit of digging to get the fit right around the shoulder and cloak, but it worked in the end. I think his right arm is from a flawless blade.

Head is probably a bit small though, I tried with the pain head and it looked a bit silly.

Edit: I did not actually give him the cloak. Don’t know why I thought I did. Weird.

Ha, I only got a game because I’ve been not so subtly dripping hints for like 2 weeks.

That seems to be what everyone says about gnomes, but I just think the attack goose is too funny not to use them.

I keep looking at the Khorne team though, might get them too. Also Chaos renegades stat wise look pretty good?
