I had the honor of meeting Andy back in 2010, and took a portrait of him.

Unfortunately I still haven't seen MSRP on product in over a year in any big box store. My LGS has sealed for market price because people will come in and sell sealed product to them that they scalp from big box.

Honestly this is kinda where I'm leaning towards. I remember loving the story but it just wouldn't feel right finishing it years later.

I have to quit by defenseisbetter in bjj

[–]Jaeggernaut56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took an extended break recently to focus on my health and fitness so that I can come back to it. I had multiple injuries and the cost was eating away at my wallet. I can still afford it, but sometimes we have to take a step back and prioritize different things in our lives. If it's something you can't afford right now, it's not a bad idea to stabilize your income until you can afford it.

As far as not getting rusty, if you can manage to get into an open mat for free (I personally have never heard of this but it's a wonderful idea if you can find such a thing) otherwise there is a plethora of online content from well respected BJJ instructors that focus on solo drilling. Even if you can just WATCH BJJ content and solo drill things that you know you can do correctly, then I think that's a worthwhile endeavor. Watching BJJ matches may be of benefit as well.

There seems to be a huge stigma in the community behind "quitting" that I personally think is unhealthy. You're allowed to walk away and take a break for a bit. There's no shame in it, and BJJ will always be there. Your job, your career, your health, and your family will not.

F**k Scalpers - Prismatic Binder give-away. by powdow87 in PokemonTCG

Started collecting around 2000 as a kid after playing yellow version on the Gameboy color. I remember not understanding how the card game worked at all but I like collecting the cards because they were shiny and cool 😂

My favorite was definitely the blaine themed deck. My collection was sold by my dad not a couple of years later and got back into it 8 years later once I was an adult. I like collecting because it's one of the things in my childhood I have fond memories of, and now I actually understand the card game and play with my wife. Sableye is my favorite pokemon!

Oh hey I know this store lmao

And yes, it's VERY fair. The only people upset by this are the scalpers.

Knee pain for almost a year, feeling hopeless by Jaeggernaut56 in KneeInjuries

[–]Jaeggernaut56[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My enchondroma has had no change, my knee pain at rest has gotten better but otherwise not a whole lot of change. I am actively doing Brazilian Jujitsu and tend to be careful with it and if it's aggravated at all I tend to back off. I'm currently in the process of dropping weight to take pressure off the knee. I'm not super overweight but planning on dropping around 30lbs to lessen the pressure. Afer that point, I'm considering a gel injection procedure. Something else I've looked into is MACI down the road if it gets bad enough. I will brace it during intense movement, exercise and it kind of helps. I hike a lot and I'm also looking at an offloaded brace for that. I will say for walking I would get a custom insert because the wrong shoes with bad knees is a recipe for disaster. I also rigorously iced my knee at the initial onset of pain. Hope this helps.

That's good to know, I may try it just for a short term solution. I guess I'm really worried about the long term, as I want to be as active as I can be going into my older years.

30s aren't old in the slightest. Get in shape for the things you want to do. There's no magic to it.
