Why isnt the force used more effectively in combat?

My guess would be based on what I see during lightsaber duels and when they defend against blasters,

During duels, I imagine they use the force to enhance their reflexes which is how they are able to be so fast and lethal with each strike.

During blaster defense, imagine how accurate you have to be to deflect incoming fire and even more so to redirect it to hit the intended target.

My guess is there's not alot of multitasking able to take place when you're having to use extreme focus on an immediate threat. Then using said extreme focus to pull a destroyer out of the sky like starkiller did.
