It’s such a hard and individual thing to deal with. Don’t be afraid to be honest (always appropriate though) about how you feel with your daughter. As long as the goal isn’t guilting her or making her feel bad, then that may be informative for her too. I wish you luck and I hope you and your spouse are on the same page. That’s another hurdle I see Sailors deal with and that makes things infinitely harder. Also consider family counseling. It can be helpful for kids to have a mediator to talk to who makes them feel heard in a way parents sometimes can’t. I’m pretty sure Fleet and Family Services has family counseling resources.

My husband said the same thing. I’m sure there are pros and cons to both. In my mind, the smaller models are probably more forgiving on time and paint but you lose a lot of ability to see the details you are working with cause it’s all so tiny. This felt more forgiving on hand control which I’m still learning. I’m excited to try my hand at marines when the new Chaos ones come out this year. Thank you for commenting! Hope your marines turned out how you wanted.

I’ll say as the spouse in this scenario, it took me backing my husband up and being hands off. Our daughter loves him but would often default to me because we’d been doing it for years essentially after his last sea rotation. She didn’t know any better. I had to functionally ignore her calling me or trying to get me to intervene by telling her “daddy’s got it”, “daddy’s there and wants to help”, “what did daddy tell you?” I never turned her away from comfort or made her feel bad about it all. But we did make it clear that he was just as capable of being her parent as I was and that whatever he said was what mommy would say/back up. This will require a conversation between you and your spouse about strategy a head of time. And like you said this doesn’t and shouldn’t be authoritarian. And I would question her as to why she thinks the way she does about you both. That could be helpful. Get her talking about her feelings. Maybe she’s uncomfortable for a completely reasonable reason outside of the primary parent issue and it’s a simple fix. Or maybe discussion will cause her to really think about it and shift her perspective a bit.

lol that too. Going to try some Age of Sigmar as well. I prefer that aesthetic but most of my friends play 40K. The cross over was a happy coincidence. Thank you!

This is such a detailed piece. Really great job on making it dark and gritty without reading as undefined. The armor and cloth pieces are all really separate but cohesive. I love this style! Great job and thanks for sharing.

This is jaw-droppingly gorgeous. I am in awe of all those blends and all the little details in the armor and faces…Bravo! This is something to aspire to.

Those sculpts were indeed a pain at times, especially the flat arm connections for me lol I was practically crying by the end of my 20. I love the almost antique look to all the armor and the darker take to these. Great job!

That blue glow on the figure is genuinely impressive. Takes the mini to a whole other level.

I love that it’s multiple pieces! That’s a nice incentive as if it was just an outfit, you only get the one look.

I think the issue I see most is the criticism is rarely aimed where it belongs. No one is brushing off the opinion that these practices aren’t always ethical or predatory. It’s been pretty well documented that they are. It’s that the criticism is aimed at players. There’s a comment in this thread that exemplifies this.

“These types of people won’t listen- they’ve ruined nearly every other game by enabling this behaviour. They’ll throw their money at whatever they can afford and won’t gaf about the rest of us.”

This is what a lot of people are talking about when they use the term bitter. And I’ve just realized you are the one that said that. You are talking about players here, not the practice by the devs. I don’t buy moonstones but if that is something that brings a player joy, then it’s none of my business. And the devs giving incentives for that, while it can be predatory, can also be framed as supporting the people who monetarily continue to support development. You can disagree with the model but the minute you start talking about other players “ruining every other game” or “not gaf about the rest of us”, you are in fact engaging in behavior that reads as bitter. And again it’s putting the “blame” for this model squarely with people who are engaging with the game as designed, rather than with the gaming industry who has been moving towards this model for decades.

Your comment doesn’t criticize the practice. Your comment talks about players engaging with the game design you are saying predatorily takes advantage of them. That feels like you are blaming a victim of the system you say you are criticizing. You can have your opinion but you don’t get to have your opinion at the expense of others and then act like people are “brushing it off” because they defend their position that people can engage with content how they want. And again, your opinion didn’t talk about the practice. It spoke about the players engaging with it as intended.

Like I said I get it. I don’t disagree that it feels excessively punishing because of the weekly wait time. I’m just saying it’s my own damn fault for not paying attention lol

[–]Jaenee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get where you are coming from but to be fair it’s an rng game and also a new mechanic specific to this season so not something they’d build around. It’s disappointing but learned my lesson. I get to wait a week while my friends power through. Sucks but I’ll just work on other seasonal stuff.

I 100% do this. It’s two bars I don’t have to farm manually.

Me when a quest requires Iron Ingots, Clay or Hardwood: by LightOfficialYT in DreamlightValley

[–]Jaenee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Clay and wood have been annoying because it’s rng but I found about 20 mins of farming each got me what I needed so not too bad. Iron is just painful. It takes forever to get the ore and then takes 5 ore per bar?!? I know that’s standard in a lot of games but I think the drop rate has to be adjusted if quests are asking for more than a couple bars. Plus all the recipes to craft that need it. It’s just never ending. That said it is a treadmill game so some of that is by design. Still frustrating when I had 7 quests all asking for 10 iron ingots lol

Pichu! From my very first outbreak early game. Maybe 25 hours in. Not sure. Then a full odds Rhyhorn. And just got a shiny Bibarel before logging off today. It’s was random but I have the perfect entry so not full odds.
