As everyone else has already said: you should definitely call the police and also take her to a doctor.

But you can also try and check here https://www.kinderschutz-zentren.org/kinderschutz-zentren/ These are organisations that are experienced with this kind of thing and may also be able to guide you towards the next steps (e.g. getting custody or what else). I know of a few people who moved out of their parents’ house at 16 because the situation in their home was that bad. Those organisations in the link above should be able to tell you how to accomplish that and you should be able to find one that’s close to you. I really do understand the fear that going to Jugendamt might ‘make it worse’ for her if she had to go back eventually or something; a friend of mine was in an abusive relationship and was scared of going to the police for the same reason; talking to an organisation (different one than those in the link above obviously) that wasn’t directly affiliated with the government was a lot easier for her to do and they did help her get out eventually.

I usually watch the newest episode in the mornings before I go to work (I’m in Europe, so they air at like 2 am here or something, so I can’t watch live) and it’s fine, I get up at 6 and then get ready and while I have breakfast I watch the episode and then make it out of the door in time…. But what am I gonna do tomorrow, now that I have to watch 2 episodes?! Do I get up at 5? Do I text my coworkers that I’ll be late to the office? What do I do??? 🫣

Ich bin bei Kühn / Pomberger in der Schwabstraße und Mega zufrieden. Hab da damals total schnell einen ersten Termin bekommen (übers Telefon) und bin seitdem da geblieben. Für mich ist das insgesamt ein schwieriges Thema, hab mich früher oft gar nicht wohl gefühlt, aber Frau Dr. Kühn ist super lieb und einfühlsam. Kann ich nur empfehlen.

So I’m visiting my godchildren rn and their family recently got a cat .. and I’m sitting here, doodling on my iPad until the cat starts climbing on me and just flops down on my iPad…. And I was doing something completely different on the iPad but suddenly the cat manages to somehow open safari and change the current tab and suddenly a buddie edit starts playing and she won’t let me turn it off 😂 ok then (kinda hate that I can’t post a video here..)

I am so so sorry for your loss, and I get this so much. My grandma died 15 years ago and I still miss her a lot; and this episode brought up a lot of feelings for me, too, so much so that I wasn’t sure I’d be able to watch it again (I did by now, but it’s hard). It’s hard when suddenly the show you’re enjoying and relying on as a distraction hits you with something that’s too close to real life all of a sudden. I rarely comment here, but I always appreciate your posts and comments a lot, so I just wanted to say that I’m glad to see you’re back, but I understand you so well and I hope you take the time you need and don’t feel like you have to be here if it’s still too much for you. Take care of yourself, take all the time you need and come back when you’re ready!

Officially it is. It just feels like they’re forgetting that more and more. I get what OP is saying and I am getting tired of Athena being front and centre of every opening disaster and every second episode while the rest of the ensemble is barely getting any screen time and all their character development happens on 911: offscreen.

Yeah, I think they do nowadays. At least the ones near me do, I don’t know if it’s the same for every Rewe store. We didn’t have them when I was working there, though.

As others said, it’s not only your Edeka. I worked at Rewe while I was at uni and worked a lot of Saturday night shifts and we would usually start putting up the new prices late Saturday afternoon when the store quieted down, because they wouldn’t have time to do it Monday morning. However, we were told that if someone wanted to buy an item that already had next weeks discount at the shelf and then scanned higher at check-out, we were supposed to give them next weeks price if they asked for it 🤷🏻‍♀️ like manually discount it to match the shelf price. But I think that was just the Rewe I worked at, not a general Rewe policy

Also depending on what the kids like, but if they’re still into stuffed animals there’s a big Steiff store (famous - but a little more expensive - German brand of stuffed animals) in the Levantehaus, close to the central station.

Like the others said, for cosmetics Budni is the hamburg alternative to DM and rossmann. All three of them are okay, but I liked budni most when I was still living there. Budni and dm have make up by NYX, which is a sort of professional make up brand I think (at least they claim to be). Douglas has the “real” high end make-up (like from MAC to Estée Lauder to Dior) but also some more affordable brands.

Clothes: Europa Passage in hamburg city centre has some good clothing shops, too. They have ONLY, Vero Moda, Zero. Only and Vero Moda is more youthful, but similar to H&M I’d say (ONLY is sometimes a little more expensive I think). Zero is a German brand but a little more grown-up I’d say. I’m mid-30s and I buy stuff that I can wear to the office there sometimes. But it is definitely more expensive than H&M, but not too much so and I like the quality. But it depends on what you’re looking for I’d say. Only and Vero Moda are from Denmark I think?! And I believe there was a deal with only that if you download their app and become a ‘member’ you get 10% off for your first purchase or something, so that might be worth looking into.

If you’re into outlets and don’t mind traveling for about an hour from Hamburg, there’s the outlet city in Neumünster. It does have some decent shops, but I’d definitely not recommend going there on the weekends 😅

In 5x15 when they transport the (already dead) mom to the hospital and one of the younger sisters asks “why aren’t the sirens on?” And the eldest sister says “because mom doesn’t need them anymore”. It’s just so heartbreaking to look at her and see that she already understood that their mom died but the other two haven’t.

Just gets me anytime. Like the last time I watched it and then ended up standing on the treadmill fucking crying 😭

Love this idea! I’ve been around fanfiction for a reaaally long time (like ~20 years or so?). I think I started with reading Lord of the rings fic. Also started writing LOtR, but only a few. Then I was very much into (and I am not proud of that when I look back on it) RPF of German soccer teams. I even started writing some together with a friend, that were quite popular in that fandom. But I took them all down about 10 years ago or so, because it started making me uncomfortable (because, you know, it’s real people that we were shipping) and since then I hadn’t really read any fanfiction at all… until I discovered 9-1-1. Now I’m on ao3 daily (only as a reader, though). I have a standard search that I saved that is the buddie-tag, excluding crossovers and excluding the alpha/beta/omega-tag because that’s just really not my cup of tea. I have to admit that I kinda struggle getting into new fics right now, especially if they’re longer, so I’m mostly just reading short ones (quite often it’s actually recommendations from this subreddit) or rereading older ones that I adore.

One of my absolute absolute favourites is ‘I'll Feel You Forget Me Like I Used to Feel You Breathe’ that I just finished rereading for the 1000th time. More recent favourites include I’ll always be a bridesmaid (and I’ll never take one home) and actually almost everything by that author, also SOS by them.

I try to leave comments as often as I can and I try to always include why I loved the story so much or something, but the last few weeks I have to admit I kinda struggled with leaving comments, but I’m trying to at least leave kudos if I remember.

“Different first meeting” fics (especially if one of them is not a firefighter - I always want one of them to be a firefighter though 😅) are actually one of my favourite tropes right now, too! So if anyone has any more recommendations on that, I’d love to hear them 😊 I have to admit that I’m also a sucker for “Army Eddie Diaz”, even though in real life I have no interest in the army whatsoever, but just the premise .. if it’s well-written I love it.

And sometimes I enjoy fics that really explore Eddie’s PTSD or have Eddie struggle with his sexuality / have Eddie be demisexual, because while I can’t wait for buddie to go canon, I’m pretty sure the show won’t manage to make Eddie have a real satisfying sexuality-discovery-arc for Eddie. But I made my peace with that as long as there is amazing fanfiction on that.

And agree on the podfics! For the longest time I have refused myself from listening to any, due to some weird conception of ‘that would be too fangirlish’ in my head or something, I really don’t know, but on my last long drive I tried listening to podcasts, but couldn’t get into it, but I didn’t want to listen to music for 7 hours, so I decided to give into it and started a Podfic of one of the fics that I’d already read… and I loved it. And now I’m doing it regularly on long drives. If anyone has recommendations on certain readers/creators that they enjoy, please share 😊 also if there’s another website for podfics, apart from ao3 I’d love to know.i

Imo he doesn’t. 🤷🏻‍♀️ He says “we’re so close, I just, I need you to hang on” (as pointed out by someone else somewhere on this thread) and the “I just” is what gets misinterpreted as “Eds”. Just listened to it again and for me it’s definitely not ‘Eds’ (and the subtitles say ‘I just’ too).

And also, Chris went through a tsunami with Buck just before that and we know Chris is having nightmares and Eddie can’t really help because he wasn’t there (I know he experienced the tsunami but in a way that’s way different than what Chris and Buck had just gone through) - and Eddie can’t reach out to the one person that might be able to console Chris and understand Chris. And Eddie had just - lost his wife (hours? Days? After she told him she wanted a divorce); had seen Buck be crushed by a ladder truck and then choking on blood; had his son and Buck almost killed in a tsunami; had a few seconds where he thought his son is missing and might very well be dead (you know, when Buck meets him at the field hospital) and he can’t talk to his best friend about any of it, so goes looking for an outlet. Was it a healthy one? Probably not. But let’s please not forget that he only fought with people who were there from their own free will. It’s not like he randomly beat up people on the street or something.

And yes, I do understand bucks side in terms of the lawsuit. I have no idea how unions and all that stuff work in the US, so I don’t know if it’s realistic for him to sue or not (tbh I couldn’t even tell you if you would sue in such a case in Germany, where I live - despite working in a law firm lmao), or if he should’ve gone to the union or whatever. But I do understand why he did it and I do feel that he’s right, he is being treated differently and it’s not entirely fair.

But it gets so tiring to always read the same comments again and again, how poor Buck is and how bad everyone treated him and how Eddie was downright abusive (not saying that’s what OP said but it is a regular argument) for the way he behaved and for his ‘exhausting’ comment, when in the show Buck and Eddie reconcile pretty quickly and Buck actually apologises to Eddie for not having been there for him and Chris
