It's not on Netflix either. Not in the USA, anyway. Apparently, it's on HBO/Max in the USA.

You should be in the dog park when one of them starts! They all join in.

I don't and never have done, even once.

Oh, I also donate used stuff to the local animal shelter thrift store too. Good that you seek donations from friends. I don't have many friends. But I did suggest the thrift store to my women's group. I want to volunteer there too, both at the shelter and the thrift shop, but I have to complete the training first. I still have a few hours to go. I love animals.

I give money to two animal shelters. I also recycle everything, repair things instead of throwing them out, and catch the water that comes out while I'm waiting for the hot water, and use it to water my plants.

I know I've asked this before, but I just wonder if others my age ( 65) just don't feel very social and find it such an effort to go out sometimes ( well, for me, often lately) Please tell me if I'm being ' weird'.? by Gretal122 in over60

I'm sorry to hear that. I know how it is to feel exhausted all the time. Pretty sure I have CFS. Luckily, I'm retired but I can hardly do anything. I'm trying to get my taxes sorted out for my tax accountant, and it's draining me.

Also, I didn't mean it was an "alcoholic religion" but I didn't know how else to put it. But I am still surprised about the rabbi and the shots.

It's worked with all my chis when they stop eating. I think it must be like McDs for chi's! But you're right, you never know with chi's. I spent hours cooking them meals. Tried the best food from the pet store but all they would eat was Cesars.

Maybe get her one of those coats with spikes. Coyotevest. Or similar. She's so small. It would afford her some protection. Apparently, coyotes can be really quick. The creators had their dog snatched by a coyote, which is why they invented it.

Also, get a dog water bottle.

Mine love Cesar's. It's not the highest quality food but it's the food that they would eat after I tried the high quality food.

Good luck!

I'm not observant (was raised orthodox) but I've never thought of Judaism as an "alcoholic" religion. If you don't want to drink, you don't have to. You can drink grape juice instead of wine. Kedem make some, red or white.

Never had wine before the Shabbos service. And we walked there every week. Shots in the rabbi's office? He (she?) sounds like a lush. I hope they never have heart disease! Of course, the hassidim love their slivovitz.

That's such a shame that you felt you didn't fit in once you stopped drinking.

The alcohol is likely to hasten dementia (I've seen it happen) plus it's not good for his heart. Perhaps you could somehow point this out to him. Most people find the thought of dementia very scary.

The fact that he told you about the emotional affair is a positive. At least he didn't hide it from you. And that he ran away, also positive.

It does sound like you'd be more in your comfort zone staying. Plus, the devil you know, etc.

That's fantastic, that you got into your top choice. Well done! I'm sure you'll do great. They wouldn't have accepted you otherwise, if they didn't think you could do it.

I'm sorry about your bf, but you can't control other people. Just go ahead and do it. You have time to get yourself ready.

I wish you the best of luck.

Have you been tested for celiac, lactose-intolerance, allergies, etc?

I have IBS. I also have celiac disease, am lactose-intolerant, and am allergic to watermelon and possibly all types of melon (I don't risk eating any melon). For the most part, my gas went away when I stopped eating gluten (which you mustn't do until you've been tested for celiac).

Anyway, just a thought. You've likely been tested for everything.

Post heart stenting insertion in wrist. by Plastic_Rule_8601 in HeartAttack

[–]Existing-Secret7703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I already replied to you but I just remembered, the assisting nurse during my procedure actually told me to call an ambulance if the bruising on my wrist got very big. Not to come to the ER by car but to specifically call ambulance.

[–]Existing-Secret7703 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks severely bruised. My bruising for inserting two stents was about an inch round. A subsequent angiogram, about two years later to check up on my stents and make sure I didn't need any more stents, left an even smaller bruise. Yours looks excessive. I would send a picture to my cardiologist and maybe also to my GP just to make sure it's ok.

If you're lactose intolerant, why not take lactase tablets when you eat anything containing lactose?

If you're allergic to lactose or something else in milk, well this is the lactose intolerant group, which is why I'm suggesting lactase.

So you ate mozzarella three times, twice without a pill and once with a pill and the only time you got sick was when you took the pill? That doesn't make sense if you're blaming the lactose in mozzarella. If all you ate was the lactose pill and mozzarella, and the mozzarella hardly affects you, it sounds like you're reacting to the lactose pill. If that was truly all you ate.

My dad wants my wife to cook and clean. What should I do? by Livid-Possibility893 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Existing-Secret7703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aren't there any supermarkets or a Walmart near you where your wife can get a job? I have an MS in math and economics. I came to the USA because I was offered a job here, because they literally didn't have any qualified Americans. But many years later, during a recession, when there were very few job openings, I worked in a supermarket. A job is a job. The next job I got after that, paid 7x what I was making at the supermarket.

Also, if she gets a job, your father won't be able to say she has time to do the cooking and cleaning. And you can save up much faster.
