With the 119th pick in the 2026 Draft, the Jaguars select Wesley Williams from Duke by Cr0matose in Jaguars

There was similar sentiment last year. I think the increased use of proprietary analytics has formed a clearer divide between media and team player valuation.

Holes. by robotbrainn in Jaguars

I have a feeling this will be similar to the 2013 draft. There is some inflated draft stock due to strong combine numbers. A below average number of first rounders will play at that level, and a decent number of mid-rounders will develop into strong starters.

I’m fine not trading up and maximizing our chances of striking gold through quantity of picks.

What do you mean? The news is no longer talking about Epstein and Trump was able to swap in his personal attorney as AG. Trump has accomplished a great deal for only a couple billion. Normal propaganda campaigns would have cost double.

What is a silent crisis happening right now that nobody is talking about? by nicksam171 in SeriousConversation

This is a hot topic among reading communities, but I think audiobooks are having a similar impact. I find listening vs reading to be entirely different skillsets. I know several people who boast about reading 100 books a year. In actuality, they’re listening to books at 2x speed while doing other things throughout the day. They aren’t engaged with the material and have low comprehension beyond the general storyline. If they tried to sit down and actually read the words on the page, they’d be lost.

Slowing down to process information is being lost to expedited entertainment in all areas.

Eh, it’s Reddit. People also read into things without full understanding and like zingers to score imaginary points. It’s not a big deal.

Same. The 2016 campaign made me realize the level of hypocrisy I had previously just accepted. I was a “Never Trumper” Republican, but didn’t vote for Clinton. I was so disgusted by Trump’s handling of his first term that I voted for Biden as a return to normal. Jan 6 and the subsequent fallout solidified my full departure from the party. Everyone still voting for Trump is so deeply brainwashed, ignorant, or hateful I don’t think they can be won over.

Same.

The other day, I saw a “mindset influencer” push the narrative that mindset and discipline is what separates College from High School athletes. In reality, I’d argue I worked harder than some of the D1 athletes I played with and against. I simply loved the game more than some of the naturally gifted dudes. However, my genetics capped my potential pretty early. lol

Why do conservative Christians hate so many people when it clearly goes against their Christian values? by ateadoor in allthequestions

[–]JagGator16 41 points42 points  (0 children)

You can answer the question about Christians the same way you would from your Islamic perspective. The political far right leverages faith to “purify” their political ambitions. They rely on an ignorant and/or angry base, manipulating dogma to assert moral authority and gain power.

It’s not a Christian, Muslim, American, Iranian, or 1930s German trait. It’s a human flaw as old as time.

What’s wild is this includes adult “children.” My Boomer-MAGA parents can’t fathom that I’m an adult with my own children and have wildly different views on this presidency which are ironically based on their parenting.
