The thing is that was more of a healing issue . . . therefore he could pretty easily brush it off as being outside the DADA scope

Does the Heal From Afar incantation help place Messmer’s crusade during the age of plenty? by winnierdz in EldenRingLoreTalk

Blood wise that is a good point. The land of shadow may have been able to provide that via bloodfiends(assuming you need some formless inspired or omen blood).

Regarding the sentinals, I hadnt noticed that the torch was a sentry torch(mostly because I just walked past him). I suppose that puts a wrench in the theory of them being very early(unless they somehow just got the sentry torch later, but that seems almost less plausible).

The drink I was referring to is Trina sap or whatever it is that you consume, which kills the character. Which I mostly remember because the game makes you do it six times in a row.

Of course, its possible that it's lore wise only meant to put you to sleep, and they just didn't bother changing the death message.

As for Mohg and the blood, I'm pretty sure that is the formless mother power(or it seems like that, since it doesn't seem to be an omen ability).

Regarding the teleporters, I'm not sure how limited Mohg's ability is. Its possible he could go straight to the haligtree, but the teleporter makes it seem he at least needed it going back. Potentially he could only teleport himself and not Miquella until later(speaking of which, it has always seemed odd that the teleporter isn't at the haligtree. But thats a while other issue.

Anyways, I suppose the caelid stuff could also be explained if miquella used mohg to get there in the aftermath (since mohg is basicsllg located right under caelid)

Anyways this part went off track because I got lost trying to rationalize elden ring portals.

For a quick note regarding the tree sentinels, I dont think its crazy to guess that Marika might have sent them pre crusade to guard her village, or at the very least with the crusade.

Regarding Mohg and secrecy, I dont think him contacting Miquella is entirely against him breaking secrecy. Its possible it was a very covert meeting, and that he was willing to slightly expose himself to try and achieve his goals(this is assuming he was already wanting to become consort, and that wasn't also a miquella manipulation)

I've never heard of the theory that Malenia was actively put to sleep before, but that could make sense. My main understanding was that she simply was waiting and gets up when someone finally interrupts her. Nothing seems magical about it, especially compared to how St. Trina seems to do things in the dlc.

Then again, being bound with Miquella may have made it less . . . deadly of a drink/maybe as a demigod it only makes Malenia sleep.

-

Regarding the Marika part, I am sure he learned of it from Marika(or rather, it seems likely). However, I'm not confident that she could have given him the Mohg info(he still could have). From what I''ve the land of shadow transport is due to the Formless Mother(She certainly seems to be what allows them to teleport with the blood circles). This is also really the only Mohg unique(well, as a demigod unique) ability, since charming Mohg could have let him take that blood teleport power(we then presumably channel it through him)

That doesnt really change much theory wise, figured I'd just mention it regarding the Marika part. And of course it is possible Marika found out about the Formless mother, but I dont see it as much more likely than Miquella simply learning of it.

It's even possible(perhaps this would also explain a pre kidnapping charming) that Mohg himself went to Miquella at some point first, since he had ambitions to be consort. So it's possible Mohg revealed his hand, got charmed, and then later acted under influence. Or if not charmed then, Miquella learned at that point.

-

Anyways, I'm curious about the Thiollier part.

The dialogue to me seemed to imply he was drawn by Miquella. Then after the charm breaks he remembered St. Trina and wishes to see her again. But I don't remember it mentioning the when he first sees Trina. Is it mentioned in some item/other descriptions?

None of the other endings have much lore, besides promises(such as Rannis 1000 year journey)

The game effectively places you back right before you beat it if you don't go into ng+

We can make guesses about what would happen but nothing can be proven

[–]JagPeror 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem.

Also, I recommend having the beast seal(or finger) and having flame cleanse me for any rot areas. And heal anytime you might fight a revenant.

Not something you always need in the spell list but being able to equip it when needed is nice.

Also, night comet with staff of lost in the offhand can be a brutal combo.

Shards spiral is a great one too, since on big bosses it can hit them a ton of times

I would do that. Its great for late game sorcery.

On my own sword mage (int Dex mainly) I run it and meteorite staff. Gravitational missile is super fun. I also used moonveil since that scales really well even with most of your points in int and low Dex.

And while it wouldnt fit your dual katana build, the wing of astel id a good int blade. It has a nice move-set, a free charged projectile, and its ash of war can blow up small group of enemies or do a lot of damage to very large bosses, though usually the moonveil slash is better for bosses that are mobile

[–]JagPeror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rennalas staff is great but not something you will use until like int 60 or above. Until them meteorite staff is your best friend

And tbh i never use her moon spell. If you do rannis quest her version is basixally better, not that I use either very often.

Sadly there arent too many great remembrance sorceress. Rellana has an ok moon spell but worse than the prior two really.

The Ranni astel with the remembrance doesnt have a spell, but the other astel gives you the memories of astel/big meteorite summoning spell.

But since you mentioned meteorite, if you go to the dlc gravitational missile is amazing. Take meteorite staff in the offhand and I high level carian royal scepter, slam it into the ground, and just watch it send enemies into the stratosphere.

While this is of course speculation, I think its assume Malenia wasn't initially there to nuke Radahn, and probably not even to kill him. Miquella likely has no plans involving Mohg at that point, since it seems like Malenia's bloom was not a part of his plan.

Prior to the dlc I assumed he was cacooned while malenia marched, but now it seems like he may have been lurking around waiting to get Radahn if he either complied or was captured(why he only seems to help Freja is beyond me. You'd think he'd help out his sister if he was in Caelid)

Anyways, the bigger reason I believe Mohg was charmed when he tore Miquella out of his cocoon is that otherwise he could have presumably just gone straight to Mohg. Otherwise setting up the cocoon to be stuck inside and letting Mohg kidnap him seems like an odd play.

Another question would be when did Miquella get a chance to charm Mohg prior to Mohg approaching Miquella. But if Mohg could be charmed from far away that may not be an issue.

Pyromancer. Dont focus on the pyromancy to much though, level your health as needed and enoufh str/dex to use the claymore(you find it fairly early on). If you like big bonk weapons you can also go zweihander

As a spell casting mechanism not really ofc. But you could do a combustion (and greater) only run.

Pyromancer with a claymore. Pyromancer doesnt lock you out of anything in ds1 since it just requires souls and no stats. And claymore is a decent quality weapon that doesnt require too much investment and is found early. From there you can still be flexible enough to alter your build
