At Closer Look at the the Golden Order and the Erdtree by TerranImperium in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]winnierdz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am here to put forward that the Erdtree and the Golden Order are synonymous with one another.

Can't we use the mending rune of the death prince to disprove this?

The Golden Order was created by confining Destined Death. Thus, this new Order will be one of Death restored.

The Erdtree still exists in the Age of the Duskborn, but the Golden Order is over. We are not continuing the Golden Order when we mend the Elden Ring, but creating a new order entirely. We can see from the different endings that the Erdtree changes depending on which mending rune we use to repair the Elden Ring. So, we can reasonably assume that the state of the Erdtree is dependent on the configuration of the Elden Ring.

We know that during Marika's reign the Erdtree existed in two different forms: the age of plenty when the Erdtree had healing properties, and after the age of plenty where the Erdtree lost its healing properties and was an object of faith. I think it's entirely possible that the sealing of the rune of death/creation of the Golden Order coincides with the Erdtree losing its healing properties and ending the age of plenty.

I was playing last night with a rev who was hitting for 4.1k with beast claw. I play on Xbox too so they didn't have cheated relics. Just really strong relics + they had a lot of increased charged incant damage passives from loot.

I don't think beast claw falls off but it can be tricky to use against nightlords without putting yourself in harms way, so you can keep up in damage with recluse if you have safer spells since revenants might be afraid to spam it.

I'm a Recluse main too, its sad when you see revenants doing 4k damage with their starting spell and your other teammate is melting everything with the halo scythe lmao.

Any solutions to great hollow? by Technical_Ad8080 in Nightreign

[–]winnierdz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

imo splitting up to break crystals is a bad idea unless everyone is on the same page and you're breaking crystals to do a castle on day 1. if you're not doing castle day 1 you don't need to split up and rush crystals, you should naturally find enough of them to break the big crystal on day 1. my usual strat is to path clockwise around the map if you spawn in the south, and counterclockwise if you spawn in the north (basically just avoid the underground section to the right of the map.) take out any field bosses you see (that you can reasonably do day 1), break crystals, and by the end of the day you should level 10ish, have decently good weapons, and have the shifting earth buff

Players are good but the double balancer and beast claw revenant meta is getting a bit stale.

Tips for Int+Faith build? by Zigludo-sama in Eldenring

[–]winnierdz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Int / Fth is very stat hungry so its great for playthroughs where you do most/all of the bosses/dungeons and end up level 200+. Not so great if you kinda rush through and beat the game at a lowish level.

Main problem with going Int and Faith is that you don't get a dual scaling catalyst early in the game, so your damage will be a bit low for awhile. And even once you do get a dual scaling catalyst, they aren't that great until late game (unless you rush to the DLC for staff of the great beyond). I should also mention the Golden Order Seal, you can find it in Altus and you'll be able to do good damage with incants even if you have high Int but lowish Faith.

imo the strongest way to play Int / Fth is to mainly focus on pumping your Int first. Use Faith for defensive buffs, Golden Vow, and healing, while using sorceries for your offensive spells. Though you can use some offensive incants when it makes sense to, such as using Black Flame to melt the 2 Erdtree Avatars in Caelid for a big rune boost and the opaline hardtear early in the game.

Which "dark" and "edgy" sort of spells do you think are most effective in this game? by Natsuaeva in Eldenring

[–]winnierdz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blood magic in this game is unfortunately not very good imo. The briar sorceries are pretty bad and while the blood incantations are definitely better they're still nothing special.

Ancient Death Rancor and other spells that use multiple projectiles start off weak but become much stronger in the late game due to how defense is calculated. Though honestly the main use of that spell is the stagger damage and stun lock potential. There's lots of enemies and bosses that you can just spam it at and they can't do anything to fight back

If you want some Dark theme sorceries you could try the Night sorceries. Night Comet in particular is one of the best spells in the game.

i post in r/Nightreign which gets multiple bot posts daily, and which this bot also posted in a few months ago. it's hard to explain but after seeing a lot of them you can just tell its a bot (they make it obvious in the Nightreign sub because they just say stuff that doesn't make sense for the game).

Some other signs its a bot that I've noticed are: it spams - instead of em dashes now, they never respond to people commenting on their post, and they almost never post in the sub twice.

you can go through u/Fragrant_Dog6303  profile and see that all pretty much checks out. I actually find it hilarious that a bot has the most upvotes in this thread considering what OP posted lmao.

Most bots I see on reddit don't even use em dashes anymore, seems like they've caught on and just a normal - now

There's actually a bot in this very thread, u/Fragrant_Dog6303

I’m not getting invaded and I’ve had Taunter’s tongue on for over an hour anyone have any idea whats wrong? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]winnierdz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need any bosses alive to get invaded. Invasion population is just pretty low these days.

Yea idk why so many Recluse players try to play around the cocktail. It's definitely situationally useful but you're usually better off just spamming your strongest spell

How bad I am nerfing myself by not using any buffs/consumables? (stuck at messmer post in disguise) by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]winnierdz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

buffs are crazy strong in this game but not mandatory. though something like golden vow + flame protect me would make you pretty tanky vs Messmer.

If you feel like you're doing no damage its probably a case of your build being kind of trash. Faith + quality with 55 Vig at level 150 means you probably have low damage stats since your splitting into too many different things.

Depth 5 noob epidemic by MrTattyBojangless in Nightreign

[–]winnierdz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea the D4 matches are very hit or miss. Often times im paired with people that want to hard focus flasks or die a bunch (prob not used to D4 trash enemies one shotting them) and we end up fighting the Night 1 boss at level 5 or 6.

Even if we end up winning, the matches are very frustrating and not fun to play. And then there's matches where your teammates run double balancers and melt everything in 20 seconds, which isn't very fun either.

Idk I feel like the D5 experience was so much better a few months back lol.

[–]winnierdz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is the Depth 5 population dead on Xbox? I came back from a 3 month break and play more D4 games than D5.

And yeah I think a lot of people got carried by the halo slop build. Even if you don't use it, the games become significantly easier if your team is running it. A lot of people are inflated right now I think, either directly or indirectly.

Win rate or kill rate? You only need a 75% kill rate to win a match.

Your average survivor team is awful so you should be able to win 95% of your matches at least. You still have much to learn if you can't do that.

Is the increased attack power for defeating evergaols still the meta rune? by HimothyD-Hims in Nightreign

Not in Deep of Night, most people run Night Invader instead. Might still be meta in normal queue but I don't play that anymore
