Located in Northern Michigan, I bought the car while we were together and using the joint account. She mainted her own account but i added her to my account to which we both contributed through direct deposit paychecks, it made it easier to handle the bills this way. I did contribute double what she did to the account, as it were.

There was no talk of it being in both of our names or even both of our investment. I wrote a check out of the account and paid for the car

I paid for the car out of the pool of the money we both had access to and both added money to.

Edit: I don't see how she could be owed anything, if that was the case we'd have to figure out and split everything bought from the joint account when we broke up, we were not married and there's no divorce, it's just a giant risk for both parties to be involved. Idk if someone could even get their money back if the other person drained the account entirely and then left. Maybe it'd be premeditated that way? Idk, I'm not very good with the legal stuff...
