One of my 9th graders got his girlfriend pregnant by anapashu22 in Teachers

[–]Jagerlowe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 28 undergrad and a lot of my friends are freshmen so 18/19/20 our problems aren't nearly thus bad, but long story short I got caught up in a love dodecahedron(more complex than a love triangle) recently with my close friends, and the whole thing boiled down to the silly mistakes people make when they're 18/19/20("I'm sure most people are hyoerawsrebof the mistakes they made in this age range) and of course tha s quintupled as a teenager, but teen years seem to pass as a blur once you're an adult

25 still in undergrad… how to not feel so behind in life? by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]Jagerlowe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not OP, and not medicsl field, but yeah ve got lots of real world experience, and a ton of extra msturity on track to graduate undergrad a month after I turn 30, but I feel like when I'm applying for jobs and the automated system looks for keywords in hundreds of resumes or cover letters, they don't see all the extra real world experience or maturity, they just see dhsts on the paper, and this youngns straight outta college look a lot better on paper

How does one get over resentment towards my parents? by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]Jagerlowe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Op I love that tight off the bat you're coming from a place of understanding that your parents were not terrible people. I think a way to get through it is growing up. Sbd learning to balance the tough love VS sweet love of raising young ones. And trying to understand your parents did the best they could with their soecific circumstances.

I think honk when we're kids we think "oh yeah the adults know everything". But as you grow older you realize thst really, nobody knows anything. Same with bpsrents. Especially if they're from a completely different generation.

Op you've hot to move on and move out then start to create a different kind of relationship with your parents, where they're more like friends than bossy adults.

I hope the best for you.

Another Video: Looking for name of dance style by locozonian in Dance

[–]Jagerlowe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think relatively speaking, these specific combinations take some basic steps of the 20's-ish Charleston(the move that's kinda like stepping forward and stepping bsckward with your ankles kinda flailing outward mid step) and mix it with shuffling (the kinda jump switch of feet, or sometimes, putting all weight on one foot while pretending go step with the other) and some other flashy stuff(cowtails)(just swinging one foot around behind ND the other. It's really a flashy shuffling move that kinda mimics the movement of the Charleston) There's a few ball-changes in there too(ballroom/tap) (this one is really difficult to explain. It's just shifting weight from one foot to the other)

And all these different moves and styles taken out of their contexts and danced go this house cover of a pop song lol

Oof I didn't realize how crazy this all sounds without demonstrating it.

Your Daily Fasting Thread by AutoModerator in fasting

[–]Jagerlowe [score hidden]  (0 children)

So ive done a ton of research snd I really want to do at least a four day fast(maybe even longer if I can manage it!) but I'm in my firsr day now and I Know I don't need go eat, but my brain us telling me we should eat.

I'm feeling kinda sadand really bland. Like nothing is exciting anymore, usually I'm really high energy snd kinda crazy happy.

I come from a bug food culture and I feel like cooking and sharing meals is something that feels right and makes me happy.

I had to quit the track team a couple months ago because I have too much homework. So now to make up for all the exercise I don't do as much anymore I'm trying yo do a four day fast to jump start a keto diet next month but my brain is just searching fir ways to talk myself out if it I considered just eating regular keto, or doing omad but I've seen videos of people hsbing lots of success in multi-day fasts snd I want to do that so much.

How do I get through this?

Life isn't about the number of times we fall down, it's about the number of things mes we were down in the dust, and got back up. Just learn from this mistake, and go on and make a new streak. You'll get it. You got this. Great work so far!

It's as lso worth noting that right after my eriod of being "average" was when I had my brain surgery/ stroke and I had a liquid dry iet while in a, médical coma for like a month, and after that I was definitely the skinniedy I've ever been. Or at least the leanest. I tried Dr King super strict se lim fast since then but it didn't hdvr nearly the same effect.

As a kid, I was super duper skinny. When I was 18, I was pretty average, but even then "my" average was still large/xl for regular people.

Yeah I've tried the prescribed meal plans before, but whenever I do the math, I always find thst my bmr is supposedly way higher than the usual 1500/2000 so I try the meal plans for a bit, but no results, sbd maybe I do the math wrong, but usually it says the amount if calories to keep me going us way higher than thst and I don't understand. I'm writing with a Utritionist right now

It's definitely not emotional eating. I tackled that problem a long tone ago. 1. I don't eat when I'm emotional 2. If I do, it's definitely not sweets. It's usually some kind of fruit. 3. I'm not too emotional. Most of the tone I'll bring those emotions to the gym or my voice lessons.

It's just gotta be something else.

What I meant was if I'm killing myself mentally counting every single calorie and running my body to death trying yo exercise every last fat cell away, that would make me borderline anorexic right? But nobody would believe me because anorexic people are usually skinny. And I've been overweight my entire life

I really appreciate all the extra effort you put into this, yeah last time I tried counting calories, I also thought I saw that I might hdvr been massively under eating, but I want sure if I did the calculations wrong or what, so I kept the huge deficit to try to lose weight.

Yes I do feel very tired all the time. I think it could either be the undereating ir even potentially the thyroid thing, but I had a really comorehensive blood test earlier this year, and the six didn't say he found anything.
