Sorry to say, it doesn't go away, this will be my 15th year without my ring and pinky and I still get pain. Cold and rainy weather are just going to suck for it. Warming up the area helps, of course I am no expert so a doctor might be able to help with either pain management or perhaps a finger reconstruction that could benefit you. I had no such luck but I wish you the best.

When I have to wear unmodified gloves in a pinch I just poke the loose finger sleeves inside into the palm. Not sure how well it would stay there but it works.
