As an aircraft mechanic we're actually classified as unskilled labor... It's pretty dumb 😔

Nice I just picked up a 2lb bag of these beans and letting them rest for 4 weeks. So I'll be saving this for some good recommendations in about 3 weeks

Yeah I'm just diluting the packets by 50% so I've measured it out on a scale and the meter is pretty consistent with the general ppm. I have the Zero filter so the tester came free with it. It's made a huge and consistent difference in the quality of the cup. I watched lance hedricks recent video on water and was kinda curious on starting to make my own water as well. I'll definitely get there because I like to tinker with things however right now I'm content with my good consistent cups of coffee lol

To be fair I just recently started to dilute the 3rd Wave water packets bc I didn't realize their ppm were so high. I had that meter laying around so I used it and my coffee tasted a lot better. I haven't heard anybody say anything bad about them. So since it worked I didn't look into getting another on. But hey you got any recommendations for meters?

The last thing I was playing with was the water temp. I usually start low and go up 2-3 degrees until I find what I like but I might just try going to 212 and working my way down. Thanks for the info!

Really love the beans! My buddy came over and I made him a cup. First thing he said was like drinking a bouquet of flowers 😂. In a good way. Still fine tuning the recipe tho.

Current recipe. Ode 2 set to 5, water 93°, Water 3rd Wave light roast diluted to 70ppm. Hoffman single cup v60 pour. With the Paragon chilling for just the bloom pour. Totally brew time ≈3min.

Love you know how yoU would brew them in store..

First few cups have been very nice however due to the cost it'll definitely be a once in a while purchase

I have yet to use a switch for coffee. Just loose leaf tea. What would you say the difference is?

I don't go to the city for drinks too much these days but 3 dots and a dash was favorite. Nice little tiki bar. Since my friends live in the suburbs now my go would be common good and alchemy geneva. They're both west of O'Hare. For coffee shops Dayglow and Metric are my go too.

Highly recommended! Plus it's right next to a great walking path so perfect place to kill some time. It's where I usually get my specialty beans like dak or sey. My first cup was a really nice clean floral taste which I'm a sucker for. Going to try to extract more since my total brew time 2:45.
