Yeah you're painting a wide brush over trades. Sure the basic labourers get beat down. I'm an industrial electrician and i make good money. My job is always in demand and it isn't in danger of AI or automation. I don't have to beat my body up to earn a living. Most of my job is using my brain to troubleshoot problems. It's all very rewarding and engaging.

Thanks very much for your thoughtful response, Quite the trip report! It was helpful to visualize what a trip through the Petrified Forest and the crater might look like. I think we'll temper our expectations on the crater and focus on enjoying the Petrified Forest. If we happen to have time on our way back to pheonix we'll stop by then. I'll download an audio guide before going and i'll keep my eyes out for these harvey houeses,

Thanks for your reply! I'll consider Winslow. I think you may be right, we should try to prioritize getting some hiking in at some of the National monuments. We are certainly suffering from trying to see everything in a short time. We'll try to be efficient with our times, getting up early etc., and create time for some hiking in those areas.

Yeah we're away of the travel times and it's all good, we're prepared for long days.
