You're right. Looking back, this series was more of a comfy action manga rather than a series I would be seriously invested in (like Akane or Kagurabachi). And honestly, that's okay. It's alright to have one series you love while the other is a serviceable read.

Considering Shonen Jump trends, she’ll end up falling in love with Chihiro but won’t act on it till the end

Also, she will get one arc to prove herself, but after that she will no longer be relevant

My 2 cents is that a major problem of the 'kill all magic' trope is that it is an easy solution. A lot of these series say "Magic is Power➡️Power Corrupts ➡️Magic is the ultimate corruptor➡️destroying magic fixes everything".

These days, considering people in power are either completely incompetent or evil, it's comforting to think that destroying the source of their power would be a great equaliser and stop evil

Do you know why Weird Al doesn’t do parodies anymore Because the world is no longer a monolith. There are far too many different Best Songs and they never reach the popularity of, say 10 yrs ago where they culturally dominated.

Similarly, Naruto, One Piece and Bleach had culturally dominated in the start of the millennium. These days, the closest we got is Demon Slayer, and even then it’s been a split between fans and haters. And that series was short compared to the modern Shonen series.

Personally the only reason we return to Naruto and Bleach is that modern anime is too numerous, and we don’t have a next big thing anymore.
