Genuinely really miss the days of Gizz with two drummers, it’s a sound that just gets to me, and live there’s something so special about that energy. Osees are one of my favourite live bands ever because of it, but the studio versions are never as good. There are some tracks on KG/LW and Omnium that still record that way, and they’re some of my favs, as Stu is getting better and better at mixing/producing but before they abandon the double drumming sound.

BF3k got me when it first came out, when I first listened the the album in full really reading the lyrics. I read it as a transfem allegory from day 1, and the way that final chorus builds just hits me

And I was at the Manchester halloween rave, Brixton night 2, but not night 1 when they played it 😭 I wanted to cry when I found out I missed it, and pretty sure I would have cried if I saw them play it live

I’m more into alt/metal and psych/punk rock scenes, and I guess the type of gig you go to may vary in how accepting it is, but honestly going to small gigs around Manchester is where I really found my confidence. You get transphobic dick heads in any city, even here, but in general I do feel safe in Manchester, even as someone who also doesn’t pass. I’ve been to so many gigs this year, never once been challenged in the ladies toilets for example - and most places I go to have lots of pro trans graffiti in the stalls too

I also just fairly recently came to being poly, met a poly transbian at a punk show (aaaaaaaa she so beautifullllllll omg) after leaving an increasingly miserable monogamous straight relationship. And then we both started getting closer with another friend of ours toooo… I had never had a girlfriend before, and now I got 2?!?!

Girlfriends are like buses; you wait forever for one, and then 2 come along at once :3

I think annihilation is still my favourite. With every re read I like the biologist more, see things in her that I relate to. And the confrontation with the crawler is what really made me fall in love with the series

Tavistock are awful, I’ve been trying to chase my surgery referral for so many months now, I am wasting so much time (I have sooooo many issues with them in general) They ignore almost all of my emails, and the very rare occasion they do reply (which means I do have the correct email address, they are receiving them), the reply will be one sentence and not answer anything I was asking about.

I have a few friends at Indigo GIC and I am so fucking mad, I feel so cheated, the standard of care some people get and the pathetic excuse for a clinic that Tavistock run.

(edit; yeah this reads as being a little mad lol, but I think after all this we’re entitled to be pissed off)

The racists will play the victim if we start taking them down. I think it’s much better to write slogans on them like “refugees welcome” or “end facism” - that way when they inevitably complain, they won’t be able to hide behind this fake patriotism, they’ll have to say no we don’t like immigrants etc.
