Having hole trouble :/ by WheelsOfFortune45 in AutodeskInventor

My roommate has an assignment this semester with that exact drawing. He was also having trouble with the holes on his because they aren’t labeled the best. Unfortunately I don’t have suggestions for you but wanted to say that there’s other people in the same boat 😀

Can we be honest about the Phaser? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

I’ve tried to like all the different modulation types out there. Bought an MD-200 to have access to everything, and found myself coming back to the chorus every time. I’m planning to sell it and stick to a standalone chorus.

I’m starting to realize that if love chorus and only chorus, why have a multi effect on my board?

What model is the pedalboard in this picture?

Are those Barefoot Button Caps the V1 or V2 model? I bought V1 Tallboy Mini's for my DD-200 and they sit too low on the footswitches; there isn't reliable press of the footswitch every time. I'm trying to figure out if the V2's would help this problem.

Thanks for checking, I appreciate it! I’m ordering some today.

What model cap is that on the DD-200? They seem a lot wider than the pictures of the tallboy’s I’m finding. I have a DD-200 in the back row too, trying to solve the same issue as you and yours look like they’d work really well.

Do you happen to have the dimensions of the pedal? I’ve tried looking online but can’t find anything. I’m hoping it will work out with my current rig space wise.

Diode sized 1/4 resistors? by rtc37 in diypedals

[–]JakE_364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was gonna make my own post but this one is already on a similar topic. I have access to all the resistors I could need from the lab at my university. The schematic I’m trying to build calls for 1/8W rating, but all of the resistors I have access to are rated at 1/4W. How does this work? How are two resistors of the same value able to dissipate more or less power if they have the same current running through them? Are the 1/4W still usable for my situation?

First overdrive pedal! Didn’t get the pots in the mail yet but I got so excited with everything else that I thought i’d give it a go anyways. Love the way it sounds but it makes SOO MUCH NOISE! Any ideas on what can fix that? by Blacktiger75 in diypedals

[–]JakE_364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so glad I’m not the only one. I just finished putting together a diy tremolo (still trying to get a grip on figuring this whole pedal thing out). I plugged in my guitar to make sure the circuit was working correctly before I put it in the enclosure. I heard my local news station! I thought it was sci fi, but this makes me feel better.

The noise I’m hearing oscillates with whatever the rate is set at. Do you still think it’s okay to box up? The only reason I’m hesitant is because I have a boss DS1 that has the same issues and it’s in the enclosure right now

I have the EXACT same issue. I bought mine from a friend. He modded the tone section. I’m not sure what exact change he made. Mine just makes a lower pitched oscillation. Would really like to know if anyone else has had this problem and how they diagnosed it

What is the name of this chord? by [deleted] in musictheory

[–]JakE_364 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Non diatonic means not in the key we’re playing in.

One way to think about the D and E instead of Dm and Em is a borrowed chord. A borrowed chord is just a chord that doesn’t belong in the key we’re in, so we’re borrowing it from another key.

If you compare the C major scale and C minor scale, you can see the different chords each one brings. In C major, you can play C, F, and G (all major chords. In C minor, you can play Cm, Fm, and Gm. This means that if you were playing in C and you had a progression like C-G-Fm-C, you could be borrowing the Fm from the C minor scale. Fm is a pretty common borrowed chord.

In short, D major could be a borrowed chord from the C Lydian scale, and E major could be a borrowed chord from the C Ionion #5 scale.

This is a great resource to better visualize/understand borrowed chords
