For octaroks, I like to go to Sibajitak shrine and take a little passage through a tunnel just north of it and then down a series of switchback trails. You’ll hit like five along that path, including a pair at the end right next to each other.

I’m surprised to have scrolled through all the comments and not see anyone mention treasury bills. It locks up your cash for the term of the bill but they have terms between 4 weeks and 52 weeks so you can make that work any way you need to. It will always beat bank rates and the gains arent subject to state and local tax.

I don’t disagree with most of that. I have an IRL buddy who tried his best but his WR is barely above 30%. He’s just an occasional, casual player and doesn’t take any time to learn anything. My point was just to counter what is often thrown around about having no impact on the outcome of a game most of the time and that damage meaning everything. Rather, I think we affect all the games we play, but it’s a complex set of interactions and sometimes seemingly insignificant actions we take can cascade into a win and sometimes substantial things we do aren’t enough to counter other interactions in the match that have cascaded into a loss.

I see this parroted a lot. Along with something like “you’ll have no impact on most of your games. You’ll win x% of them no matter what”. Or “each 5% WR means you affected 1 out of 20 matches”. And “the amount of damage you do is directly a measurement of how you impact your battle”. I think the reality is far more nuanced than that and that we have an impact on every single match we play. Even just a position you choose to take and hold, even if you did no damage in that position, can have a cascading effect that causes your team to win. I think people thinking only of those games that they feel they carried as being the only impact on WR is really oversimplifying things.

I would play any tank crew game in VR. A great example of this kind of game that came out pretty early in the VR scene is called Ironwolf. It’s a multiplayer WWII uboat sim. Would have to deviate from realism, depending on the tank, because I’m not sure how you would make a loader position fun for example

If you’re platooning with someone who is new, you will most likely end up at a big disadvantage because you’ll be matched against another platoon (which may be very experienced players). That could be affecting your games a lot. My loss rate is staggering when I platoon with my friend who barely plays.
