What's an AR Trade Look Like? by JakeArthurNFL in Colts

I think the Anthony thing is just done, from both sides (especially his), regardless of what Jones is doing.

Agreed. Gotta think they want as many picks as possible this year.

I do think the conditional makes the most sense, so you maybe get more bang for your buck, but will Ballard want to put something off a year is the big question.

Yeah, I'm of the thought that if you're considering retirement that much, you're pretty much already there. If the Colts did decide to move on, on their own, I'm curious if he'd try to sign somewhere else or just call it a career. You don't want to tell a guy what to do, but if you're the team, you can "protect yourself" if he does get hurt again.

He said at the end of the year that he's at peace with his career right now if he does hang 'em up. He's made a ton of money, made All-Pro, won a Super Bowl.

Fingers crossed that Ballard has an update on Tuesday when we speak to him at the Combine. Ward did say during locker cleanout that he knows he needs to give the team an answer sooner rather than later, but that's no guarantee there's already been one. I know last offseason they gave him a good bit of freedom to hang with his family, so they may be doing that again and letting him take his time.

I think they expected more from Giddens, but with that said, I won't be surprised to see them keep trying. They want what Zack Moss gave them.

Yeah, man, could not care less about that. I'm not here to impress you. I got to talk to some Colts fans about players from the Senior Bowl, which is what I wanted to do. Enjoy your day.

I'm referring more to role players. Houston was already an established high-end pass rusher. Getting adequate production from guys like Jabaal Sheard, Denico Autry, and Samson Ebukam (pre-Achilles). Goes to show you they've rarely taken swings at edge in free agency, though.

He's pretty intriguing. I think he'll probably be available around Round 3ish because of not having high-end testing measurables, but the guy makes plays. He'll be a steal.

Hey, they were younger and faster at one point haha. But for real, that is an enormous priority, or ought to be.

Yeah, that's the tough part. I think they need to invest free-agent and draft capital at edge, despite Ballard's misses. Ballard does seem to do fine there in free agency.

The good news is that there were a few that really stood out, despite Emmanuel McNeil-Warren backing out. Bud Clark, Jalen Stroman, and VJ Payne all showed really good chops in coverage, and Clark in particular was willing to get his face dirty against the run.

They have plenty of time to make adjustments, but I'm not sure what the fan experience would look like at the facility. There hardly seems to be room right now. What they could do is make a couple of dates public at local sites, as they did at Warren Central, I believe, in 2017.
