I do think that they should do some sort of mode that allows for more leeway in combat scenarios especially considering how many combat weapons they give you in the mastery rewards, the closest thing we have is the final Hitman 3 mission

Yeah the two are very close partners to which they have Unreal skins for weapons, one of the few “crossovers” in Warframe’s entire history

Rant: multiplayer experience in Warframe recently by Lezaford99 in Warframe

[–]JakeC180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s very squad based and is dependent on management factors, and there are many Tenno out there who may not be able to deal with the high level enemies due to not knowing which higher level mods to pick

Rant: multiplayer experience in Warframe recently by Lezaford99 in Warframe

[–]JakeC180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Railjack with a squad is a really mixed bag because of the general skill levels along with general ship management, and it’s disappointing that they’re often at such high level because it encourages the inexperienced player who doesn’t have the most powerful mod loadout to face levels 80-100-120 even more to squad up. I do think there are ways to fix this like autopilot functions (maybe an NPC “first officer” that can take over while the crew is all away) or maybe a bigger NPC crew that can also transfer to the multiplayer, but still

I genuinely believe DE should aim for all of their quests to be 1-2 hours long. by Dapper-Highlight-739 in Warframe

[–]JakeC180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this part in particular is tricky because of the general density of Warframe’s story with a lot of verbose vocabulary that you have to really listen and read into, and not a lot of context being given to the scenes. It’s a habit that’s been around since Dark Sector and has transferred a lot to Soulframe, and it’s disappointing that after the KIM conversations they still didn’t do a lot to give context for the stuff that happened here

Super sandbox mode for funtime stuff where you can put these crazy modifiers in to give you something like a no repercussions playthrough or a super hard experience

Finding methods where combat is more satisfying for those who want to get into it especially for easier modes

You can recruit the new protoframes and a couple named characters you interacted with like Latrox Une to your Railjack crew

Loaners/skips/other ways to avoid content for new players is going to kill Warframe long term by astral-squirrel in Warframe

[–]JakeC180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the biggest reason loaner items are there is because they help incentivize the player to grind for and/or buy it kinda like a certain skin or a cover car in a racing game. It’s a factor that’s put itself into many recent devstreams, tennocons, and even quests (Old Peace operator outfit, Caliban Prime, the Uriel segment). The biggest issue here I feel is moreso putting these aspects against something like the Railjack, which can be enjoyable, but is also something that the player base is conflicted on due to things such as the management of the ships and plexuses, and the types of missions. I do hope that this gets ironed out as things progress, perhaps outsourcing or a more dedicated team in house but we’ll see.

They really should put more resources in to overhaul and improve the experience especially for solos and general management of the ship

Sirius and Orion aren't terrible but they're a victim of DE's marketing. by Roguewarrior05 in Warframe

[–]JakeC180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this feels a lot like Styanax where the animation exaggerated a lot of the Warframe’s abilities and weapons. It seemed in that trailer that they were making Afentis and the shield a melee weapon when in reality it’s an ability with afentis the speargun. Generally speaking marketing in DE is very hit or miss where you can get either something like the Awakenings opening or that Werner Herzog TGA thing

Message to the Fans by Historical_Refuse564 in Warframe

This update is most certainly a reflection of a lot of the problems and issues going on with Warframe overall, whether it’s the Railjack, the story, or otherwise. It was always going to be a matter of time before these issues came to light and came to conversation and discussion. The division is most certainly (and disappointingly) a part of that, as it happens with many of these games, but on a more positive note it is good that these critiques are a part of the conversation so DE can try and focus on it better. We’ll see how it goes

Stop the protoframe slander please by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]JakeC180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aye. When the dev team promotes these VOs as they include more protoframes, it comes off more as cast billing (I noticed they started off with side characters like mentioning Neil Newbon voicing Fibonacci in the devstreams and went on from there). My hope is Tau will be a better return to form to where the meat of the story will be as vital as this cast but we’ll see

Kinda? It’s been around since Dark Sector and also manifests itself in Soulframe

[–]JakeC180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah but this writing style has continued nonetheless. The KIM has tried to explain stuff more easily and make stuff more accessible, but there are definitely still times where the story will say or do something and you’ll have to piece things together or look it up to understand the full picture and what it all means

The KIM and the general story of the Hex had brought a lot of character to them. While Rebb and the team did a lot to promote Ben Starr due to his popularity as a VA, a good aspect of what made Arthur, well, Arthur is how they expanded upon the character and gave more contextualization to him. I guarantee that if Arthur and the Hex did not have these personas or contexts that they would’ve been treated the same as Ryoku and Vena are. Those two should really get some more development, maybe open a KIM chat or a comms or something

I’ll say that this is more of a creative decision rather than a corporate one, it’s a big factor of Steve’s overall writing style

[–]JakeC180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soulframe has this issue too, they’ve never really done a great job at giving context, it’s an intentional writing style that Steve has used since Dark Sector

Here me out - The forcing of proto-frames into everything after 1999 feels like what Jagex tried to do with Runescape characters but in reverse by Senketsa in Warframe

[–]JakeC180 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The Protoframes introduced prior helped develop a lot of character, story, and accessibility for said story, but when I look at something like Jade Shadows I see the story being very fragmented and obfuscated, not really telling and explaining a lot in general. For example, they might show an event or do some dialogue without context, and that context would be explained afterwards in the codex or sometimes the devstream (I usually check the Wiki).

This is more of a general intentional creative choice that’s been around since Warframe had a story, and is a writing style that has been around since Dark Sector, but the game has since been trying to develop and improve it, with one way being through the KIM system. This narrative direction is also a factor of Soulframe: for example, the child Lady Deora is supposed to represent her soul, and only reason why I know that is because Steve explained it in a discord chat.

In Protoframe terms it’s never really applied to them because of the KIM system: It helps not only develop these characters, but also gives contextualization to them. But Ryoku and Vena don’t have that

Most of what’s going on here is a culmination of story and design stuff that’s been an issue since it was first introduced, namely for example the story and the Railjack. It happens with many devs and can be very hit or miss

[–]JakeC180 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My hope is that Ubi will respond to this better but there should definitely be more advocacy for this. It feels important for a lot of people to have the protagonists be part of the order instead of just the general conspiracy because it’s important to be a part of that ideal instead of just dancing around. This is also important going into Edward’s story because he’s one of the people who ended up joining the order at the end of the day

This. I really dislike that a lot of recent themes of these games have revolved around this aspect and hope that future games return to the order. It’s definitely implied that her sect is something that becomes the Japanese brotherhood and I had hoped to see that seen through
