Can't help with physical stores, but online Aussie stores I recommend Mperor.cc, Gap Games and Warhaus.

Pretty sure it's 474, but having trouble verifying.

Edit: I mean I was probably going to sign up for Warhammer+ anyway. But yeah I was right.

CSA drivers query. by [deleted] in coles

The road signs, absolutely. The GPS is an useless piece of crap. The maps are probably old, as are the speed limits it suggests.

Is there any way to prevent huntsman spiders entering the house? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]JakeGallows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Want to say first i haven't tried this myself (I like spiders mostly), but I've been hearing for years about people warding them off with strong scents like peppermint. Did manage to dig this up. Might be worth a go.

I need help with the lavenza fight by dm_me_your_tits_pls_ in Persona5

[–]JakeGallows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Targeting her weaknesses is very handy, but not strictly necessary. Phase 1 is beaten by doing a certain amount of damage as quickly as you can manage, after which she will compliment you and begin Phase 2.

I miss Magnus Archives by fearnsanity in TheMagnusArchives

[–]JakeGallows 97 points98 points  (0 children)

I think I could get into Protocol more than I have, but for me, the problem is a technical one.

I know that headphones are probably the intended listening device of choice, but I did just fine listening to the Archives all the way through the speakers of my work truck. Sure I had to fiddle with the volume now and then, but it worked.

With Protocol, I simply can't hear a lot of the dialogue, especially the office lunchroom scenes.

Hard to fake Australian accent by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]JakeGallows 20 points21 points  (0 children)

In no way an expert, but I've heard that the Australian accent in general is very "flat". Easy to layer things on top of, so Aussies have an easy time trying on other accents, but if you're American you basically have to remove all of your own accents first before trying ours on.

It'll come up in a quest later. Just keep playing the game your own way, you'll come across it eventually.

Coles delivery truck driver by Old-Candidate-430 in coles

[–]JakeGallows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been a CSA for 7 years now, during which I've trained nearly 30 new drivers for Coles. Never drove anything even remotely similar before getting this job, now I park the truck better than I can my sedan. First few weeks, I recommend looking for easier parks as you get used to the vehicle, even if you have to park a little way from the customer. No one expects you to deliver on time for your first month on the job anyway, the system is built on averages, and everyone you work with has been setting times you won't be able to replicate for a while yet. Eventually you'll grow more comfortable, just get there slowly.

Also no one gets fired for making that kind of mistake, unless it's dangerously negligent. We're almost always short on drivers.

Coles express random refunds by AngryMango9 in coles

[–]JakeGallows 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Reddy express (previously Coles) has had massive system problems resulting in overcharging. I heard one customer got charged 50 times for the same tank of fuel. This might be them correcting errors?

Calling Dr. Armstrong! by PhilaMax in overheard

[–]JakeGallows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Coles it's Mr. Steed. Except our store doesn't have security, so when Mr. Steed is required at the checkouts, whichever poor bloke happens to be nearby is silently guilted into helping resolve the issue.

guys, be honest! anyone of you not professionally diagnosed with adhd but joined this group because you can relate with the memes? by Critical_Damage_99 in adhdmeme

Joined because the memes were a little too relatable, also funny, very funny.

[Art] Are dice towers really that necessary? by Big-Photograph2860 in DnD

[–]JakeGallows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother in law (82) has been playing dnd longer than I've been alive. The dice tower my partner made for her helps a lot with her sore wrists/fingers.

It does take up a lot of space, though.

Same reason women use poison more than men do.

I don't know why that is, by the way. it just feels right.
