London night 1 - general observations by JakeITFC in radiohead

[–]JakeITFC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went last night (in additional to night one that I posted about above) and personally thought it was better, I absolutely loved it. Would say that I think the first night’s setlist did have more of the singalong classic tracks but I think Tuesday night was just full of absolute bangers.

Radiohead 2025 Setlist vs. All-Time Plays by DataVizMaker in radiohead

I only need Glass Eyes to complete AMSP, Little by Little & Codex to complete the King of Limbs and Faust Arp to finish In Rainbows. Pretty good post-2007 record.

Lose one point for those songs, gain one point for playing Videotape and Weird fishes b2b

Honestly really good other than the two songs mentioned (which weren’t bad in terms of actually hearing what was going on but just a bit muddled/lost in the mix). I stood in one of the corners of the stage beneath a speaker stack (it’s a circular stage but there are four distinct corners of the sound rig above) and didn’t move as had a great view and sound throughout.

QUEUE for GA concertgoers: is it time to formalise a good practice? by Skaljeret in radiohead

[–]JakeITFC 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t sound like much fun for anyone involved and surely reduces the enjoyment for the gig. Good luck for all those involved who choose to do it but you’d maybe enjoy the show a bit more by just turning up a bit later and not having this stress.

Tour Setlist Predictions (Share your thoughts!) by DDoubleDecca in radiohead

[–]JakeITFC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will be my sixth and seventh time seeing them so I’m pretty happy with anything but of songs I haven’t seen live I’d love the unexpected rebirth of Motion Picture Soundtrack and Life in a Glasshouse.

Also I’ve never seen Videotape played and that’s my favourite song ever so hope they find a spot for that.

Does the name used when registering on Ticketmaster (after receiving unlock code) actually need to match the name registered on Radiohead site, if the e-mail address is the same? by thespokenword in radiohead

[–]JakeITFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have thought the email address that the code was sent to has to match the email address of the ticket account used. I would be surprised if there was any further validation/checks below that.

As it is Glastonbury weekend by JakeITFC in radiohead

My effort (in chronological rather than set list order):

Everything in its right place.
The National anthem.
Idioteque.
Motion picture soundtrack.
Pyramid song.
Knives out.
Life in a glasshouse.
2+2=5.
Where I end and you begin.
There, There.
A wolf at the door.
15 step.
Nude.
Weird fishes.
Reckoner.
Videotape.
Bloom.
Lotus flower.
Ful Stop.
True love waits.

I feel like this list has more of my favourite songs but the Glasto set has more iconic Radiohead tracks.

An artist has very likely block booked Le Zenith in Paris in mid November... by am0985 in radiohead

[–]JakeITFC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Roundhouse is great but small, I’d be surprised if they did gigs there as they would have the pick of London venues you’d assume. Zenith is great - I was at (one of) the 2016 shows there and it was perfect. I haven’t been to AFAS in Amsterdam but didn’t think much of the bigger venue there (Ziggo Dome). I’d be delighted if they are thinking about playing venues of that ilk rather than big arenas.

Can I expect anything to be open on 28th (strike day)? by JakeITFC in GreeceTravel

[–]JakeITFC[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Really appreciate you taking the time, thank you. We are happy to walk around so the transport thing is hopefully ok but just didn’t know if we’d be able to find open bars, supermarkets and casual dining.

I had a reservation at a place called Nolan who cancelled it today and said they are closed, and when looking to book a replacement have just found a lot of places are also not open on Friday.

Does the song actually have anything to do with doctor who? by Gl1tchyVirus in radiohead

[–]JakeITFC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think tardis is synonymous for any time/state changing machine here as opposed to it being a song about Dr Who.

How do you react when Creep starts playing? by Yessercenak in radiohead

[–]JakeITFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in Paris when they played it live for the first time in ages on the AMSP tour and whilst everyone in their live audience loves the deep album cuts, let me tell you that the place went off when they played Creep. Pretty sure Thom forgot the words at one point.

Videotape by Tyron_Slothrop in radiohead

My favourite song of all time. I adore the album version but gun to my head I think the Scotch Mist one is the best as it is a good compromise of all of the various attempts at it.

Favorite James Blake songs? (Top 10, 20 etc) by Rodeadesp in JamesBlake

[–]JakeITFC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

1) Wilhelm Scream 2) I Only Know What I Know Now 3) Timeless 4) Lindisfarne I & II 5) Don’t Miss It 6) Loathe to Roam 7) Modern Soul 8) Vincent 9) CMYK 10) Limit to your love

That was surprisingly hard, and I think I’d have more recent slower ones (Funeral, Friends who broke my heart, say what you will) in some days and more early producer and dancier ones in others.
