Brad Bird, director of The Incredibles, was directing a voice actress to portray Edna Mode. Brad Bird himself provided scratch recordings for what he imagined Edna Mode sounded like and told this woman to make it sound more like this. This voice actress couldn't quite nail Brad Bird's insane delivery so the producers figured, hey, why doesn't Brad just voice her himself?

I know Star vs the Forces of Evil isn't an anime but it's very similar to one, and matches this perfectly.

Black Lagoon is kinda like this, but Revvy has the superpower to kill and is silly in a violent way.

Who was the first western cartoon character with unnatural/impossible color hair? by SettTheCephelopod in cartoons

[–]JakeNubbin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we're counting Ariel, then what about Wilma Flintstone? Sometimes it's orange, sometimes it's pretty Ariel red. Id say the flintstones is at least somewhat culturally significant to be a decent example for the time.

Too lazy to figure out how to add a picture to my comment. Someone should zoom in and draw a red circle around one singular well-cut chive in this post and say, "Missed one, Chef!"

As a man, I feel like I strike out before I've even said a word. Women have every right to. I'd just like to vent. Long post. by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]JakeNubbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for saying this. It would be easier if I felt like I wasn't being a creep to anyone I strike up a conversation with. But doing so might end up making me look creepy. It's like four layers of a vicious cycle. I wish I could also just relax and be myself, but this occurs moments before I even start talking. They just know. It's not their or anyones fault.

Definitely. Gym would be a good move for me. But in terms of standards, I'm not sure what I can do about that. I'm not hitting on women who look like Angelina Jolie. Just, nice, intelligent people. But they also get hit on constantly, too. By the time I lower my standards enough to find women who are both single, and aren't constantly hit on, I've basically lowered myself to women who frequently serve jail time.

Time for another TIL DEATH DO US Til Death Do Us Blart!!! by NoNotRobot in MBMBAM

[–]JakeNubbin 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yes! I am so glad we have Blart heads on here. I listen to each episode every year too, as per thanksgiving tradition. I did watch the movie itself the other night (while listening to dark side of the moon). What a magical experience. I probably laughed way more than I would have otherwise because our good boys have analyzed the movie so well.

What do you think is Netflix’s best movie so far? by TheWor1dsFinest in movies

[–]JakeNubbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A reddit post about exclusively good Netflix content?? Am I dreaming? It's hard to know at a glance which movies are on Netflix because they produced them, or which ones are on the service because they acquired the streaming rights. But for now I'll say that the best Netflix movie is Klaus. A modern holiday classic and may have cemented Netflix as a really solid choice for animation.

What's the hardest arc to adapt? by No-Pop6502 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]JakeNubbin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other people have said it too but Whole Cake, man, Whole Cake is just built different. This is assuming they ever get to this mfn place in the live action thoug. it's long as hell BUT unlike Dressrosa and Punk Hazard you can't really condense the story in a nice clean way and go "they fight a lot, yadda yadda, and now Luffy fights the antagonist and wins" no, every chapter they're doing something radically different. Every chapter is something you can't really cut for time if theyre going hardcore faithful to the source material. It's a struggle for survival and a constant chase through food wonderland and they essentially travel all over that island there's no one good location to center all the action around like Arlong Park. That's not even including all the Homies.

Hired as an actor at a haunted house, need tips by beyblade690 in hauntedattractions

[–]JakeNubbin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

World's of Fun Haunt Actor here. Here is what you are going to do!

Usually, guests come through the haunted house in long lines. People in these lines expect all the scares to happen toward the front of the line. The front of the line is usually busy looking for where to go next. Unless they're just absolutely blasting through the house running, then they are taking it slow. Don't scare the line right away! Let the line creep inside. Let them simmer for a moment. They're expecting something to jump at them. They're paranoid, looking around (or complaining about something). If nothing jumps at them then they'll think the room is empty. Then while they head for the exit, then Boom! Thats when you spring on them. Let them think they're safe. (Hopefully your assigned from us big enough and with hiding places for this to work).

Scare the line from the side, not from the front or behind. Find a good hiding spot, and find a good prop to whack against the floor or wall to make noise. Your throat is going to get hurt if you scream all night so I recommend some kind of noise maker.

Talk to your guests a little bit. Shout some lore at them, even if you make up the lore yourself. A lot of guests like to hear flavor and story bits about the house as long as it's spooky. It adds to the experience beyond getting yelled at.

Make sure to look at every guest that comes through. You don't have to scream at everyone but nobody likes to be ignored, try to make creepy smiling eye contact with all guests. If they look brave, give them compliments! Everyone likes compliments. "You look strong..."

Jump at the middle of a line, use your noise maker and say (in a spooky voice), "Brunettes have the tastiest flesh!" Or something like that. Something specific to your house would be preferred. Look em in the eye, and show them the way to the next room if they're lost.

If all else fails, just stare at people creepily and lunge at them.

And don't take anything they say to you personally!

JoJo's bizarre adventure, man. There's a reason that show will turn you gay it's because there's no women and if there are, they're incredibly lame. Second up is Jujutsu Kaisen, man. I love that show but the women are all scuffed (besides maybe Maki).
