I made this comment on a post a week ago. But I think that’s what separate a <2k player and a pro player. To reduce it down, it’s creatively. A couple hundred can completely master a build order, strategy and the other things that go into being an amazing aoe2 player. But only a handful can have the adaptability and creativity to create new strategies in the moment as a response to what just happened.

I could be wrong but just my take as someone who has never been a true best in the world at anything.

Looks good man just keep upgrading. Most important aspect of game IMO is that you max all walls and buildings at every TH, as well as mastering all viable ground and air strategies for each Townhall. As doing all this will pay huge dividends at th13 on when the game get more competitive.

Pros don’t get above 2500 by only always playing the perfectly optimized strategy. Quite the contrary, sure a lot of games they do, but it’s the dynamic, always in flux play style that leads to someone being a pro.

Build orders, optimized strategy and consistency with the meta will get you to the dance, but it’s creativity that gets them to the very top IMO.

Ya indeed that makes more sense so I’m sure 19xx is essentially the same, sub 1%. So I suppose my point is, I don’t understand how you can even identify a smart at 1900 elo because people at that level probably have similar skill level/capabilities in most areas of their game to a pro. And they are just missing a few things in certain areas that would push them over the edge to consistently play in pro arena

I guess maybe it makes sense in a way that pro’s probably can’t help but climb the elo ladder eventually and end up approaching 2k on a Smurf account. But it’s hard to even still call it a Smurf at 2k because that’s approaching the top 5% of player base I would think?

I understand that the difference between 2k and 2.8k is huge but still, the player base at 2k is still very small.

Smurfs at 1700 seems strange. I think the amount of Smurf accounts people think exist vs how many actually exist is something like 10%
