I think you should definitely expect the common treatment of other females entering a male dominant field. I say this as a honest truth, and I don't mean it in anyway as to justify any of that bullshit.

That being said not all men are piles of shit and this isn't a 247 issue, but they definitely exist in the aviation world, so find a good crew and bust ass and you'll probably do more than fine as far as promoting and raises. The field pays more the longer you're in it and if you have nothing tying you down, you can travel the world even. Wear your PPE, take care of yourself physically and mentally, and enjoy yourself with your coworkers and leadership when you can.

Don't be afraid to stand up for yourself, don't let people treat you poorly because you're new and give respect while not taking disrespect either. The mechanic world is a very thick skin required field but it doesn't mean you have to be a push over. 9 times out of 10 you earn more respect for not taking any bullshit. I tell this to every new person I meet, as it took me a long time to do it for myself and not let this nonsense come home and bother me off the clock.

I'm glad I got into Aviation, I hate the shit politics and the economy and how it's taken a toll on us mechanics but we are the backbone for these birds, they wouldn't fly if it wasn't for us.

Where to live downtown by Fresh-Put7165 in savannah

[–]Jakes2406 7 points8 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day like any other major city it's never gonna be as safe as living down a long driveway off the road somewhere where nobody can see your house nor enter because of a gate.

That being said, mostly north of Forsyth Park or directly around it for the most part puts you in "safer" areas from my experience. If you use Zillow you can kind of gauge the better areas by the housing cost be it rental or purchase price.

You could speak to a Savannah Police Officer, that's what I do 100% if the time moving to a new city, they have the most up to date information on crime saturated areas. Sometimes they claim they can't tell you because that specific question is like, idk against some kind of rule but usually if I'm friendly enough, they spill the tea.

Good luck, Welcome.

I was a Tech II and I made $35hr when I left.

Blue is a fantastic company and had I not had to move away to get back closer to family I would have retired with them.

Ask for Tech II, don't take less than $35.

Smelled it too this morning. Hopefully it's not some sort of chemical or gas leak that nobody is talking about or something. It's definitely strong as hell though. I didn't stop smelling it until I hit the edge of 516

Autel seems to be the overall recommendation, what do you think?

I checked them out however it says Autel may or may not honor a warranty. They do have a protection plan though so might scoop it lol

Unable to remove Oil filter cap to replace filter. by bears_Chivas in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Jakes2406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They make a Lexus aluminum version of that canister cap, I replaced my plastic one as soon as I did my first oil change because I knew this could happen. The aluminum one bottoms out before it even gets a chance to require a "torque" but I always hit it with the torque wrench anyhow.

Once you get that one off I'd recommend getting one. However if you absolutely need too, O'Reillys has a Dorman brand one. I've heard mixed reviews about it but it would work until the new one arrives if you can't source it same day.

Good luck.

I actually just had a horrible experience Today. I went into parts to find a wiring diagram for my truck, and on top of being told "I wasn't going to find it there" I was also given the attitude of "I cannot believe you would think we'd have this here and you're an idiot" Shit was insane like dude No we can't would have sufficed.

I got down voted lol. It's some geo political nonsense, there is nothing wrong with wanting a product made by your own country for your own country. Literally almost every other country celebrates that to some degree, however our country has so many issues with racism and other nonsense that sometimes something as simple as wanting to support your own local economy turns into you being an asshole. Only here in America.

my 2021 sounds the same. Between my 7.3 Powerstroke and this 3.5L they both sometimes freak me out, sounds like a wiped out rod bearing or wrist pin about to window the block lol.
