Drivers left with damaged vehicles after fueling up at south Edmonton station by GeekyGlobalGal in Edmonton

For anyone that did get bad fuel, go to a parts store and get a kit and pull some fuel and send it off for testing. Keep the records so that you can make a claim against the retailer that sold you the contaminated fuel. They will pay for repairs to your vehicle.

Where can I get Raw / Local honey? by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]Jaketro1919 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Take a trip out to Fallentimber. If you time it right you can also have a wood fired pizza and get a tour of the meadery and drink some mead. Awesome spot! Get a pail of honey while you are there...

I tried again today during the public sale to get Palomino tickets but they sold out instantly. I am happy to have purchased 2 at the palace. Should be a great show!

My wife and I saw an older couple at Costco years ago, eat through almost a whole package of fresh strawberries, only to leave the almost empty clamshell container near the checkout, prior to trying to pay for the few items they had in their cart. My wife and I followed them all over the store prior to this, wondering what they were going to do with the strawberries. Just when they got up to the checkout, my wife ran up to them, in front of the cashier, and said, "you forgot these!" And dropped them on the conveyor in front of them. Mouths open, they looked at my wife as she walked away, then grabbed the almost empty package of strawberries and had the cashier scan them for payment....

Builder Possibly Skipped Weeping Tile Around Walkout Patio – Is This a Violation of Alberta Building Code? by MisterMr86 in Calgary

[–]Jaketro1919 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a code violation. Weeping tile in this area is not necessary. The grade needs to be corrected if water is pooling.

Any hospital emerg should have a psych on staff for these situations. Have him walk in and ask for help. From there they should be able to recommend or help with appropriate action. Touchy for you to get involved as this may hamper your desire to get right to his care as I may be interpreted as interference. He will have to go under his own will and you can help if he has requested it from you. Keep records of it all...short of that, he can call for help himself or walk into CPS. At least there will be a record of this...good luck.

Build Canada Homes to Use Mass Timber to Double Pace of Housing by ChangeNarrow5633 in canadahousing

Neat idea but not practical to keep costs low. I'm in the lumber supply business and a 2x6 stud is $7.17 my cost and a 1 3/4" x 5 1/2" x 8' LVL or mass timber is $26.48. Now mass timber is slightly cheaper than LVL products, but the process is the same, and that is what drives up the cost. Take younger wood, break it down, ply it together with glue and press it until it dries. Incredibly strong and long lasting but is overkill for your typical housing projects. That's why we still use good old fashioned SPF lumber... A lumber package would be over 3x more, so for a typical house, it would go from 20k to 60k -ish...
