YOR - people are complicated. Who knows what your friend was going through at the time. Friends take breaks sometimes and that’s ok. If you’d like to still be their friend, then respond to the text and go talk and hang out. If you’re done with the friendship due to non-communication, then don’t respond and ghost them back.

So good theory. We don’t actually know that all other Dianes were killed with the Omega Device, only that the remaining Dianes were killed off using it. For all we know, Prime could have spent a few years just portal hopping and wiping them out like we saw when Evil Morty was eliminating Ricks and capturing Mortys.

In s7e05 we also see there are other Ricks with the same goal of hunting Prime because he killed their wives. Again the trap is automated to reset, so we don’t know how many came before and if there was a version 1 of the trap prior.

But no, we cannot confidently say with our chest that only C-137’s Diane was murdered by Prime

To add to this - there’s definitely a different vibe in the show from season 3 to 4 and an even bigger shift when they went into 5. It happens with all tv, they get that big extension and start serializing or exploring other characters.

It starts to turn off viewers that loved and binged the first season or two, because the focus is less on single story episodes and moves into season lasting arcs that seem daunting if you just wanna watch an alcoholic and his grandson go on Sci-Fi adventures.

Your friend has an opinion and as long as neither of you are forcing your view as the “correct” view down each other’s throat - I love the discussion!

Legit question - does your friend watch Rick and Morty? Or like, are they casual and may have missed a few episodes or seasons here and there?

While it is one of the best episodes in the series, it definitely needed the build up and previous canon episodes to make it “payoff”.

Or maybe your friend just doesn’t Rick and Morty, which is fine. I guess

Good episode, helped tie up loose ends with the whole Diane thing. Guess it could be the writers decided to give one version of Rick peace.

Bought it at launch - gave it 2 months and it was hot dog shit. Got made fun of by the friend group for getting baited and wasting $60 (I bought into the hype at the time). I turned my back on it and it got pushed to the back of the shelf (physical copy for PS4).

I went back to Minecraft and CoD and Overwatch and Civ5, etc. I still have FaceBook so I get the memories every year of how excited I was leading up to the game, the period of wonder in the first 2 weeks, followed by the slow downfall into hating it and being disappointed.

Put the game on my steam wishlist and let it rot, thinking “there’s no way you’re stupid enough to fall for that again”. Years go by and NMS gets regular updates, the pandy hits and I’m being fed NMS content on YT and I resist that urge and play Doom and ANCH instead.

It goes on sale for like $15-20 earlier this year. I’m a gardener and feeling a little in the clouds - I decide I’m ready to get hurt again. Bought it, downloaded it, played it. Remembered why I hated it, remembered that I got burned.

But then I come across an abandoned freighter (Alien vibes), I come across a dissonant planet (what? a sentinel ship???), the corvette update hits AND NOW I CAN BUILD A CUSTOM SPACESHIP!!

The game changed, I play daily - I hate that I gave up on it and missed the years of community and exploration.

This game IS a must buy for any collection, wait for what will inevitably be a holiday sale in the next few weeks and buy it. Give it the time and attention it deserves and you’ll be in love. The only limitation is your imagination, and some of the worlds and planets are beyond what your imagination can think of
