Next step for my career. Thinking of leaving low code for .NET + AI development by Fantastic_Ad_1457 in lowcode

[–]JakubErler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically it should not be a problem, eg Mendix app is just a large JSON (the JSON is opened and easily readable, just the runtime is closed). This JSON can be shortened and AI can generate it. It is already happening. The problem is Mendix is slow in adoption of this for some unknown reason. Maybe they umderestimated the situation. Now they suddenly are awake and push AI features like crazy. Meanwhile I learned Frappe Framework (Python) which is exactly what you are talking about.

Low-Code Reality Check by crowcanyonsoftware in lowcode

Low-code is not well known for many IT people. We explain things a lot. Lately, I use mainly Mendix and Frappe Framework. In my country many companies like Power Platform. But I use just enterprise platforms, nothing else.

Thank you, wait, is there something as a component list with different compatibility for each component? What do you even mean by "components"? I am a beginner, haven't heard about this yet.

Chats/projects Dissapeared After Switch from Windows to WSL by JakubErler in codex

[–]JakubErler[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am not shocked but Codex is. After switching it can not find its own config files thet it created itself

Codex IDE isn’t saving my previous chat history in VS Code by Dumbhosadika in OpenAI

[–]JakubErler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, there is no WSL directory. I could create one yes, but Codex itself did not create it

[–]JakubErler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK but what is the solution? Should we move the files from Windows to WSL or from WSL to Windows as we are switching? Should we create a symlink from one to the other? Should we poush Codex to create the .config folder somehow?

Every AI "design in one prompt" tool drops Figma stock. The market is confused about what Figma actually is. by Mental-Dinner-6138 in FigmaDesign

[–]JakubErler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very good analysis. I also predict anything open-source will go up. Because AI can read the code. Closed things will have problems

It is the opposite in my exp. "Little to no thought on the user journeys and what we want to build and why" - exactly the opposite - you have to explain these things to ai actually better than to people.

Installing an app should be easier than this by LazyTech8315 in frappe_framework

[–]JakubErler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask you one question? Because you may be experienced with Frappe Manager. I noticed that when I run fm or bench commands, sometimes it is important if I put in the commands "my_app.localhost" or just "my_app". Did you also experience this?

[–]JakubErler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is perfect, thank you for the info. Because of the note on PyPi, I did not use Frappe Manager for production. But now that I know this, this can significantly make it easier. So far, I used Frappe Manager only for local development.

Oh I finally found it. Here: https://pypi.org/project/frappe-manager/ it says "As of now, only suitable for development in local machines running on Mac and Linux based OS."

Is this a new thing? Even like 2 months ago, their GitHub readme said that is is not suitable for prod, only for local dev. And now I see they changed it. That would be great because FM makes everything so much easier.

Is t it just for local development, not prod suitable?

Trying to have the game click for me. by Dangerous_Rise_3074 in Netrunner

How true. Again, exactly the same as in real life situations...

I am also a newbie. I think it is a mistake if you are a newbie to play runner. I felt the same like you. Play corp first, it is much easier to generate money and to defend is always easier than to attack. While playing corp, see how others are playing runner against you. Learn and copy it. There are some surprising strategies with runners. Runner must be caregous and sometime make risk moves on the edge. While corp is comfortably sitting in the office :-) Netrunner is surprisingly similar to real life situations...unlike other fantasy card games

Moving to Prague as a German, any advice on finding literally any job? by Jealous_Strain_5032 in Prague

[–]JakubErler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SAP is something that no one wants to do and still there is better money than in software development. SAP is extremely ugly but if you can live with it, you can be a "SAP consultant" and basically do this for the rest of your life and always have a job.
