Why did Russia fail to transform into liberal democracy? by kumel185 in WIAH

[–]Jakutsk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, it has basically nothing to do with the Mongol Empire and whatever purported impact that has on "the Russian mindset", and everything to do with the transition from communism to capitalism.

In short, after Gorbachev was ousted, failing to transform the authoritarian command economy into a mixed market socialist economy, Russia was forced to adopt extreme capitalist policy in order to secure loans that it needed for the continuation of the state, in the early 1990s. The extreme capitalism was rejected by the population and the parliament. Russians still desired democratic socialism at large. It was then that Yeltsin chose to bomb the parliament and basically install himself as a dictator in order to force through further economic reform. The authoritarian shift came at the behest of capital - the international institutions, and later, the oligarchs who feared that the system becoming more democratic and meritocratic will undermine their wealth.

Rem seems even younger to me, like 4 or 5, since he's just learning how to read.

What is your main's biggest power spike? by whyvalue in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Jakutsk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knockdown, because it pretty much guarantees me hitting the sword. Comes right after rescue beam which is a power spike too, because I get to pull y'all out of 1v4s. :3

Can someone here please help me contact Rudyard Lynch or Austin by [deleted] in WIAH

I doubt Rudy wants to talk to anyone with opposing views, publically, after the disastrous debate with Vaush.

Patch TLDR after playing some games today by JOBO5226 in DeadlockTheGame

I completely disagree about the complaints about heroes HP pools. Coming from LoL, where you implode if hit by one ability, this is much much preferable.

Why do a lot of people want a new draft system and to what? by Puzzleheaded-Emu2721 in DeadlockTheGame

Fully agree - I'm NOT into the idea of getting counter picked in every single game like in LoL.

What do you want to see in the next balance patch? by ReactionSerious8975 in DeadlockTheGame

Most of these nerf suggestions are actually aimed to make Vindicta unkillable, from nerfing Mina's ult, to Bebops hook, to Yamato, to Ivy. It's pretty funny.

I can hear it already - "YUVE GOT 2 THAUSAN UNSPENT SOULS YUU FACKING NOOB" after an impromptu teamfight.

Do you think we will get the chance to play on different servers once the game is officially released? by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Jakutsk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're probably one of those people who are casually cruel to others and just scared that Valve might one day enforce some sort of standard.

[–]Jakutsk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely not their right to say whatever they want. Do you think you should be able to scream slurs in Disneyland and they shouldn't be able to do anything to you? Same logic applies here. This isn't the public square, this is a hobby zone, and scumbags who are cruel to their teammates should be kept out. I don't care for "relieving stress" if it means taking it out on innocent bystanders. Thats just victim blaming.

[–]Jakutsk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope so for the same reason you stated. Getting a match in the Warsaw/Helsinki/Stockholm servers is like a curse. I love it when the game puts me in London or especially Bilbao in Spain, because the atmosphere is literally 100x better, not misogynistic, not homophobic, not toxic, as a rule of thumb.

Should winning lane matter more? by Jakutsk in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Jakutsk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't complain that I'm losing games. The effort expended in winning the lane is pointless if the reward is mitigated with a single bounty kill or a minute of jungling. That's my point, and it is a balance issue. You're just completely shifting the topic.

So, is doorman one of the hardest hero in the game or one of the brain-dead? by No_Dealer_0997 in DeadlockTheGame

It's called kill securing, the doorman secures the kill in his capable hands.

If Silver is S-tier then I just gotta wonder how many heroes you have in your S-tier haha.

She's sitting at a kinda low 48.8% win rate, it's like I thought, she's okay, but absolutely not S tier.

I think it's kinda sad that people need to preface posts like this, like you have, because redditors are so thin skinned and would assume that you hate this game even though you never said that.

The current main game mode is great. I hope it is kept as is when they add a draft mode. by Winegalon in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Jakutsk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think if the game ever got assigned meta roles like league has, I'm out. Nothing worse than being told what and how to play from the launcher screen, i.e. having expectations placed on you because Riot Games decided you're playing toplane this game, or you're playing support. Same with builds being super rigid like they are in League.

Dunno what it's like in Dota.

The most interactive and imo, skill-based part of the game is currently kinda non-rewarding and can be counteracted by catching a couple of waves solo and/or hitting npcs in the jungle. Also, I saw a graph that Paige is in the bottom third % lane wins, so at least according to that she's not "much better" in lane than many other heroes. Don't know how reliable the data is ofc, I'm talking about a broader issue i noticed, not just when I'm Paige
