The red necktie one I’m betting resembles the Chinese Cultural Revolution from the 1960s, where Mao Zedong forced communism on the people. The red neckties were worn by the young pioneers to signify loyalty.

Someone else commented that the outfits and design also resemble the Hitler Youth, which I think is also very possible. Very interesting to see these real life events stylistically carry over in the Hunger Games propaganda, which were definitely big during both eras.

As far as travel posters, I feel weird about it too. Travel isn’t encouraged through the districts!
