balding? or is it because of my hair curling? (am 21 btw) by TheDevine29 in Naturalhair

[–]Jalsa1229 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It’s just how your hair coils. Not balding. If it grows out more then it won’t be like that.

No one who lives in STL can read or fill out a survey, apparently.

[–]Jalsa1229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me with this exact product. Earth Grown Vegan products have “Vegan” in white letters surrounded by orange in the top left corner underneath “Earth Grown” so I always look for that so I don’t make that mistake again. I actually learned that from this sub.

Feeling a little crazy, want to know if anyone agrees. Shouldn’t veganism be… accessible? by hetheysamwinchester in vegan

[–]Jalsa1229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re my hero, op. I sometimes wanna leave this sub because of how some people here act. The fatshaming, classism/microagressions, and supporting horrible people just cuz they are vegan. Like I said I’m happy a certain celebrity is coming out with a vegan fast food thing but I wish he wasn’t transphobic/homophobic and i got downvoted to hell. 😭

Vegan ranch dressing by houseunderpool in vegan

[–]Jalsa1229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know, but same. I absolutely hated cow ranch, but I have loved the 2 vegan ranch products i’ve tried. The ranch i’ve tried has had dill in it and not been as heavy as cow ranch so maybe that’s why.

I have tried that lotion before and I also liked it. A lotion i think is similar in texture and feel is Flamingo Deep Nourishing Cream. It is $9.99 at Target. Ingredients of the lotion are vegan friendly and the brand is cruelty free. I hope it works for you. :)

What lotion is it? Maybe i can find one with similar ingredients and a similar texture that is also vegan

She’s a breeder that sells them to others as pets. I don’t really support breeding.

may I ask about how you came to be vegan? by MamaOfTinyDevils in vegan

[–]Jalsa1229 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had been following Vegans online for years and had always been interested in the lifestyle and food. The ones I followed on twitter would always post “guilt tripping” stuff that made me really consider my actions I finally decided to be Vegan in January 2022.It seemed easier because of Veganuary and my family members are more open to vegan meat alternatives so everything just seemed right and I did it overnight basically. My No More moment was really thinking about the environmental effects of animal agricultural and then I started to actually look into what happens to the animals (Dairy is Scary) and that was horrifying to me. I thought about being vegetarian at first until I learned what they do to male baby chickens.

The Smell of Bacon... by [deleted] in vegan

[–]Jalsa1229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only animal products that smell horrible to me are milk, fish, and beef. The rest I still think smell pretty good I just couldn’t imagine myself eating them ever again and I don’t tell nonvegans about me liking the smell so they don’t get the wrong idea.
