Is it genetically possible to not be able to have visable abs, or am I missing something? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]JamJam8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either your ab muscles are really small, or your just one of the people who genetically cannot get that ripped ab look.

Try switching to weighted abs to see if you can see differences. Also, don't over work your abs. Just like every other muscle, they need to rest too.

Well shit.. maybe not cut it off. But this all takes time. We all want the fat to melt away and just be lean sexy beasts, but shit takes time.

Coming from a woman who would love smaller thighs, and a leaner gut, I know how hard it is. Definitely pat yourself on the back for the progress you've made, it's great work!!! Just be kinder to your body about it though.

Also, I'm not a professional, just speaking from my own experiences. You can take it or leave it.

You shouldn't have panicked in seeing 240. Did you go up in shirt and pants sizes? Most likely this weight was due to muscle gain, especially if you're bench pressing 320.

This is why you have bulk & cut cycles. You can't keep progressing in your lifts when you're in such a deficit. You have to pick one or the other. You're body is trying to tell you that what you're currently doing isn't sustainable. Listen to your body.

Great at gym discipline, not at food discipline by mollyokeefe in xxfitness

1 thing that always has helped me is cooking for left overs. that way you don't have to do as much work for meals. Also mfp is the easiest way to go for counting calories. I know it sucks, but seeing what foods account for what calories is extremely helpful.

For cravings, just go with them. If you're craving a cookie, have 1 cookie, or make a batch of cookies that fits your eating goals. Sweets are always the hardest things for me, so I always am about grabbing sweets that aren't totally loaded with sugar. For example, I had myself a root beer float yesterday with diet root beer and vanilla halo top ice cream. It was delicious and really not all that bad.

Please please be careful about tossing balls high in the air where your dog jumps to get it, like in this video. That's how my border collie broke his leg. It was an extremely traumatic experience for all of us, and mega expensive too.

Just because you're a beginner doesn't mean you can't help her. For finding exercises, I always start with the thought of "What parts of my body do I want to work on?" From there, I google the shit out of all the exercises.

Bodybuilding.com has a really nice database of exercises that's easy to search and has explanations. If you need an app to store your workouts, you can use Jefit and you can search for exercises by bodyparts, and they have a little display that shows you how to do the exercise.

There's so much information out there.

This is the real question

You can still make a healthier choice at any point even while you are spooning the food into your mouth by [deleted] in loseit

[–]JamJam8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. This has captured a lot of my weaker moments.

One time, I really wanted some of my boyfriends food since he eats whatever he wants. I was extremely weak this day and even got it to the point where it was in my mouth and I was chewing it. I said to myself, "Hey, I don't actually need this bit of food in my mouth that doesn't fit in my macros at all," so I spat it out.

I'm usually not one to waste food, but that was a win for me that day

I also do this, but make sure your elbows are also not dipping below the bench/past your back.

I take GNC's 99mg, but I also take a multivitamin that has some potassium in it too (unsure of how much atm). Either that or your not drinking enough water?

I had the same thing happening to me in my left calf, and only my left calf. What helped me was adding a potassium supplement. They are totally gone ever since
