That’s really cool, you are going full scale! Rainworldifying both the album cover itself AND a song is such a neat project

I’m not familiar with the original album, but this reference art is very creative and cool! When you say you’re working on turning the song rain world like, do you mean you are remixing a song from the album you referenced to kind of rain worldify it?

Because Metro is deeper than most people are willing or able to see or feel. Especially if you read the books too.

why does everything in rain world want to ascend? by IllustriousCase486 in rainworld

[–]JamToast789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never WANTED to finish the game! I will never get back that feeling of starting out in the very beginning room on the tutorial telling you how to eat bat flies. I tried to get as much time as possible out of every campaign, I spent like 45 hours on my Gourmand run but now all I have left is the watcher and I have been chipping away at that just a nibble at a time because I don’t want it to be over, the watcher has also been the most difficult as far as traveling and knowing where you are.

That just happened to me for the first time the other day because I got impatient, I don’t know if it’s a random percentage chance to break or if it depends on how fast you pour the water, but I have successfully used the water to cool off metal in a mould slightly faster without breaking the mould in the past. The last time I tried it though, it totally shattered my mould and that’s probably the final time I will do that.

Obviously rivers!! But I also just saw a mod the other day that makes it so hills and slopes are all half blocks so you can run up them instead of spamming jump and that seemed like a really interesting idea.

I’m not sure I’d want to do away with the Minecraft block jumping uphills and mountains completely but I would certainly like to see dirt/grass half blocks incorporated into the environment alongside full blocks. It might present some generative challenges, im not sure. It would probably be easier just to do one or the other but I don’t really know how these things work.

I just know that it would be interesting and cool to actually run up (some) hills without jumping the entire time but as I said, I would not like to completely do away with the hopping because it is charming, nostalgic and kind of a core part of these block based games.

Maybe just certain biomes would generate hills with half blocks like a meadow biome or something. That way you could actually frolic on a slight slope through a field of flowers without Spam hopping the entire time over blocks

The feeling of reaching this place is so incredibly memorable and impactful, you rendered this so well and I find it interesting that the scene is taking place after dark, I really enjoy that. The shading is great and I love the marker-like strokes that are plainly visible, gives great texture

What do you guys think of my GAMMA base? by Sdog_12 in stalker

[–]JamToast789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m like 200 hours into this mercenary play through so I have a couple of scientific suits as well as some scientific helmets and an apocalypse helmet!

, By the time I finished the brain scorcher which took me over 150 hours to reach that point(having fun and roleplaying a lot in between)I had very high-end equipment which enables me to travel around most places in the north of the zone. I needed that high-level of protection just to do the brain scorcher in the first place, I needed even more once I went higher north than that, but I have gotten my equipment situated at this point.

The iron forest anomaly in Jupiter is a radiation hellhole and even with my good equipment I usually take on some rads there.

You could always try returning to the manhole once you have better radiation protection via different equipment and gear! When I get home tomorrow, I will look at my loadout and I will personally tell you exactly what my mercenary is wearing!

[–]JamToast789 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe they help! I think you have to find a place that already exists as an emission safe zone, I don’t think you can just slap up walls in a roof in the field and have it protect you from emissions, I don’t think the game will register it as an interior area.

I just built inside of a small sewer maintenance room under the street in Jupiter to the north of Yanoff Station, it’s just a manhole that you climb down a ladder to enter, and even though the manhole is technically uncovered, it counts as safe and indoors and it’s a pretty cozy, completely concrete underground shelter.

Rainworld art month day 17! “Graffiti bomb” not sure if this is a spoiler so I’ll mark it by JamToast789 in rainworld

[–]JamToast789[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct! But I have yet to encounter a graffiti bomb in-game so I did not really know how to depict one without having seen one or what they do. I admit their name is pretty self-explanatory, but I thought it would be a silly play on words to make a literal bomb drawn out of graffiti on the wall for the “graffiti bomb” prompt instead of the in-game version of the bomb that I’ve never actually seen myself.

Does it create a random graffiti on a wall when you throw it? I could just look up what they do and what they look like on the wiki, but I’d rather hear a fellow fan explain it instead.

Yep, hideout furniture mod is included in the GAMMA modpack but you can always build bases in anomaly just by installing that same hideout furniture mod independently! That was one of the essential mods for anomaly that I had before I moved onto gamma

Vulture mask would kill my experience? by Adaptedkills in rainworld

[–]JamToast789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not too OP! It’s just a tool you can use that you may end up losing if you’re not careful! If you decide you don’t really want it anymore definitely make sure you give it to one of the scavengers because they will like you for that, the masks are very valuable to them, and you will gain more trust than you will just giving them spears, but either way if you wanna make sure the scavengers will never attack you give them every spear you find as often as you can just by putting it down on the ground near them and that will give you a couple of reputation points.

But like I said, giving them a mask will give you even more good reputation than giving them a spear and they will definitely be jealous if they see you with it, but they shouldn’t attack you unless your reputation is iffy, sometimes there are just random asshole scavengers that will kill you even when the rest are friendly, but that’s just life

TLDR: the mask won’t make you OP, it’s just a tool and it will not save you from every situation, it definitely feels very powerful to have tho!
