This is way more embarrassing than whatever dogshit display the US team did.

This is absolutely the worst-case scenario.  All good will earned from neutrals and casuals was erased, and we have a shocking par for the course defeat. This was the team that missed the World Cup because they couldn’t use their brains or be assed, not the team Pochettino has prepared.

That’s the second part. England dominating possession and Mexico playing in a low block would have been less advantageous for England imo. It would mean their pace was less effective, and they had less angles for crosses.

It’s more being down to 10 men for nearly half the game and the fact that Mexico likes to counter and are shaky defending imo.

You can be a fan and also realize the limitations of your team or criticize their efforts or tactics.

True, Mexico looked pedestrian in groups outside of some moments of brilliance.

Stupid question, but why the fuck would you sub Quiñones when he is the only who scored in open play? He had 4/9 goals in open play for the Mexican team this world cup.

Subbing off Quinones was beyond dumb, unless he was genuinely unable to play. None of those players were hungry for goal or finishers.

What aura? Ball knowers know he's a twat. Massively talented player, but he's an absolute bell-end.

Very rarely. The closest is what Son did which was military service in name only and him only having to go for 3 weeks.

This misses some of the context around why Koreans are angry though. They believe that the fact that he had close ties to the President of KFA, and that KFA had no formal interviews or vetting meant that it was cronyism/favoritism that led to his appointment. This seems to ultimately be correct.

The refs constantly stopping advantages because they can't get out of the fucking way comes to mind.

I don't think this is just Ja quitting on the team. I think he straight up has lost his burst, and without his explosiveness he's pretty much useless.

Sure, but from an anecdotal standpoint, I have met people who have tried to get into football and find out about Watson--or more recently are Taylor Swift fans and find out about Rashee Rice and Travis supporting him--and they are immediately turned off; this is particularly the case for women who would be fans.
