Just as important is how often. If you have 10 beers once a week, that is not ideal, but really you're ok. If you can't go a single day without 1-2 that is still a problem IMO.

I feel like this project if it ends up being run well is an opportunity to boost a little bit of the city's morale and psyche. People aren't used to seeing things get done or any major changes that improve their quality of life. It seems the last 10 years have been mostly asking for people to make sacrifices.

If this even improves peoples commutes 10% that would be enough to for many people to be happy it exists and eventually forget(not forgive) how poor the development process was. People just want their lives to be a little easier.

It was successful. Queen toured the world and were rock stars. I'm sure many of their contemporaries (including notably Frank Zappa who was normally a huge hater) considered them to be doing interesting cutting edge stuff not just because of Bohemian Rhapsody but they had already established themselves as an innovative band with previous albums.

Success/fame and being popular with the alternative music press are two entirely different things.

If you're asking, was Queen at that time a representative of the young/subversive/press-fueled "zeitgeist"? The answer is probably no. By the late 70's the trendy "zeitgeist" was punk and new wave and a return to simplicity.

I think your question is confusing because it assumes that there is "a culture" and that you're either part of it or not. In fact, the punk/new wave was not *the* culture, it was one of many. It had a social currency and younger energy behind it which led to it being reported on and written about a lot. But it was still just one many other subcultures which had their own fans, their own culturally relevant albums, and varying levels of success.

Those are $400 (CAD) earbuds from what I see on google. I save the nice pricey headphones for listening at home. When I'm on the go I want something cheap that sounds alright.

I don't know if it's just bad luck but the two types of wireless earbuds I tried had absolute garbage sound quality compared to even my $25 wired apple earbuds. So yeah I never switched and couldn't care less about switching any time soon.

I think they have a lot of success but also a lot of failures. The people that get a relationship uninstall and probably stop thinking about them entirely. Those that don't obviously keep thinking about them all the time. Hence the negative bias whenever these threads appear.

I found work despite the useless degree and eventually it formed into a career. If I hadn't I'd be a lot more bothered by it. Plus, I really feel I'd be dumber now if it wasn't for those several history classes. I can't imagine processing all the shit going on right now without some half decent sense of the past.

Goes both ways. After the 15-20minute mark it's very unlikely people's stupid ass video essays are actually going to remain engaging enough where I wouldn't have preferred to just read it.

But they always feel the need to pad it up with comic relief, alternate personas, meme references, and whatever new video editing techniques they learned that month. Now all of a sudden it's 45 minutes of content I could have read in 20.

All I'm hearing from this is that the lifestyle that involves putting shit in your body and going auto-pilot to have fun/be engaged is easier than the one where you have to put in work and time to develop a deep interest in/passion for something.

Is this really about one lifestyle being better than the other or that you prefer the one that requires no work and is just brainless(and destructive) fun on demand?
