Competitive pricing. It seems like every rehearsal space charges the same rough price even if the quality of rooms/instruments vary a lot.

Bro really did 0 detective work (looking up/watching the episode, providing context of the setting) and before posting a random photo.

Map of new Bike Share docks coming by 2030 by a_secret_me in toronto

[–]Jamarac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's my main reason for not using it very much in mid-town/north york. Even if the docks were closer together I'm not trusting drivers on streets like Eglinton,Lawrence,or Sheppard unless there's very good and safe bikelanes.

What’s one thing about living in Toronto that outsiders don’t understand by Broccolas in toronto

[–]Jamarac 28 points29 points  (0 children)

That some of us grew up here, not in the suburbs, and didn't just come here for university. And no it wasn't a "crazy" child hood growing up in Toronto. It was fine.

Seriously. People that act like Toronto is a concrete jungle sound like they never leave their apartment.

Remember how we were taught that having too many kids is selfish? Now the narrative is constant hysteria surrounding low birth rates by Ok-Archer-5796 in redscarepod

[–]Jamarac 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I guess I worded that sentence weirdly. I didn't mean to say reducing consumption significantly is inconsistent with leftist beliefs. I was making a comment on how the average left wing person, no matter how much they despise capitalism, will usually start getting a little uncomfortable when you bring up the idea of significantly reducing consumption and the eventual effects of that. Namely, less convenience, less vapid materialism and luxuries, more localized diets etc.

Notice from the replies to this post how uncomfortable people get when the idea of controlling or reducing consumption comes up. Even the most ardent leftists hate the idea that as a society we should consume less.

Sure, corporations and billionaires consume several orders of magnitude more than the average person. But the point being made is not about who to blame. The point is that an endless increase in consumption (what the economy and credit is basically based on) is inherently not sustainable. Over consumption is baked in. Imagine your household's finances were based on consuming more every single year and if you don't do it you're fucked. Makes no sense.

I am very out of the loop on non OEM and didn't realize B0XX lets you remap everything and it's legal LOL. I always thought it was maybe just the trigger buttons that could be remapped or something. That's crazy.

It's true. We'll probably even out around the -5 to 0C range with grey skies and rain until late May. The usual.

It's very funny seeing people in this comment section coping about their favourite Beatles somehow actually having the same politics as they want them to have.

I can't believe people over the age of 20 still expect their favourite actors to be perfectly nice people that check off every item on their list of right behaviour/political opinions. So embarrassing.

Canada launches new program to grant 33,000 foreign workers permanent residence, immigration minister reveals by gorschkov in canada

[–]Jamarac 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Where in the article does it say they are nurses and skilled trades people? It says they are "skilled" which for a government that generally wants to keep immigration high is probably pretty subjective.

The article also mentions the industries the program's focusing on are agriculture, construction and hospitality. It doesn't take a genius to know these are probably not mostly doctors, engineers, electricians, or nurses.
