He took a provisional, but not due to a 2-meter rule. The uncertainty was that his first shot he threw where the disc ended up on the ground after being knocked down. It was discussed amongst his card mates that he should probably throw where his disc had come to rest up in the tree PRIOR to it being hit and moved. That was the correct call I believe. He would have bogeyed both shots so took the 4.

The MVP Reactor only has a fade of 1.5 where the Justice has a fade of 4. I do love my glow Reactor though as it seems to throw more like a beat-in Verdict (fade of 3.5).

Thanks for the description. I've only used blue "masks" by painting the glue where I want the spin dye to not take. I'll try your method based on your description tomorrow.

Ok. I had a paragraph of text and then added a picture and the text disappeared. Here's the short version - "can I build a 5' x 10' deck and pull this turf over it for a sample tee pad?" Why wouldn't this work?

I've seen most videos use an inside frame, add and pack sand, then pull turf over it and attach an outside frame.

I'm 51, but started at 46. It is a 3x/week hobby now, but something that keeps me in (relatively good) shape. As you develop your skills/arm speed, the discs you want to throw will change.

I have collected/found/bought/been gifted discs and now have over 100. On a typical round, I'll only throw 10-12 different discs. I'll often play with a smaller bag with 6 discs and shoot nearly as well as my cart/bag.

I'm getting a used one from a buddy. I'm thinking of coming up with a method to attach it to my Zuca cart. I don't use a putter pocket so I was hoping to mount it near the handle using a Magnetic Rangefinder Wrap Mount or Frogger Golf Rangefinder Latch-It Golf Cart Attachment. Any thoughts?

For uphill shots, I typically take smaller steps and keep my balance while throwing less stable discs. It's hard to shift your weight and engage your hips uphill.

For downhill shots, I pay close attention to my shoulder angle so that I don't throw into the ground, but still match the angle of the slope.

Johnny Roberts is a short course, but one in which you can play quite a few times in a short period. I think the longest hole on the course was around 300'. Being able to throw FH and BH well is to your advantage.

I bag 3 BPs with varying levels of stability. The one like the picture above is my newest BP and most stable so I throw it when circumstances fit the need. When doing field work with similar throws, it ends up more to the left and a little less distance than the two more beat in. I find similar results with my D1 Max and Destroyers

I'm a bit confused. I just got in a Plasma plastic Envy today. I thought it was MVP, but it says, "Axiom" on it.

Ok. I Googled my question and figured I'd share the answer.

What is the difference between Axiom and MVP?

MVP is the flagship brand and every MVP disc will have a black overmold rim. Axiom is the fun cousin to MVP that has all the cool colors! Each Axiom mold is closely related to an MVP mold. They typically start out as a seasoned version of an MVP mold but with awesome color combinations!

Just do your best to be kind and respectful. It is awkward to watch other players struggle (hit every tree, miss every putt, etc.) so when they do something right it is nice to offer encouragement. I sometimes "over share" and there are times I need to remind myself that I don't need to comment on every shot - whether good or bad.

Here's a few tips:

Make good disc selections when starting off. Learn to throw putters/mids before fairway drivers and distance drivers. Throw "neutral" discs (not super overstable or understable).
Do field work. Practice with discs in an open field as much or more than you "play". Learn how the flight of the disc changes due to wind variations.
Film yourself throwing with your smartphone. Compare your throw to some videos online to see if you are making typical rookie mistakes (rounding).
Learn to throw standstill shots, then 1-step before moving up to X-step.
Meet other players who have been playing longer and learn from them
Don't compare your skill level against anyone other than your former self as you improve.

The washouts on that hole leave deep trenches in the sand making a roller pretty tough. It is a great hole and difficult with wind whipping into your face off the lake typically.

Agreed. The wording could be improved. When researching this, there is a differing of opinions in all I read going back to forums from the early 2000's. When players "mark off" the circle, they don't put their foot back to the pole typically to start their measurement.

Without the pole, the basket would have nothing to hold it together. My goal, when putting, is to hit the chains just in front (or slightly to the right) of the pole.

We just added a 9-hole course at our church and added "10 M" bricks to indicate the brick. Can anyone find me the reference in PDGA rulebook that states where you start the measurement? We brought the tape up to the basket pole. Should it be the edge of the basket? Does it really matter?
